Yup I'm the A-hole likes to call out on products…110 lumens for 30 mins and you have to click through the output settings, how long is the warranty? I use Milwaukee, 100 lumens 3.3 hours for the same price, and all Milwaukees are 5 years on the warranty, besides the service center is 2 miles from my house…1 click on 2nd click off that's it! Guess what it's the same price! Here's the link! MD please drop something useful! https://m.grainger.com/mobile/product/419J83?cm_mmc=PPC:+Google+PLA&s_kwcid=AL!2966!3!50916710037!!!g!102361597317!&ef_id=WeL82AAAAFZYUVbn:20180417213608:s

Couldn't have stated that ANY better. Yes, I'm a flashoholic- have been since a backpacking trip to New Mexico when I was 16 (turning 47 soon). Once I realized the breadth of emitters, li Ion batteries, etc, there was no turning back. I even managed to get myself into all kinds of trouble when I was in the USAF as carrying a flashlight on one's person was considered an illegal tool. Didn't matter, still used my own lighting and was EXTREMELY careful about keeping tabs on my "illegal tool light". Sooooo, there are folks like me on CPF (Candlepower Forums) and here who look for lights on a ENTIRELY different level than your "standard" flashlight consumer. And yes, we flashlight geeks freak out over seemingly stupid/trivial things and use silly terms like Corona, Spill and Emitter color to describe flashlight performance. What I've found being on Massdrop is that the lights they sell here are usually a TAD overpriced for what they are, and they have yet to convince smaller specialized lighting Companies like Skylumen.com to sell on here. Until then, I continue to find little gems on here from time to time, in ALL categories- I just need to do some Googling to find out whether the price/options offerred here is worth it or not. Happy New year!!

That doesn't look like Olive-drab to me. Looks more golden light green. I mean, it's a nice looking color, but is isn't olive-drab.

How do these compare to the Thrunite Ti3? Here's how I see it:
LED: Massdrop is Cree XP-G3 (110 lumens). Thrunite has 2 options, both of which are slightly brighter: Cree XP-G2 R5 (120 lumens) or Cree XP-L (130 lumens). Size: Thrunite is 4mm shorter and 1mm smaller diameter. Weight: Equal (both ~12 grams). Materials: Equal (both aluminum with anodized finish). Colors: Massdrop has 5 colors. Thrunite has only 1 (silver). Activation: Massdrop is a button. Thrunite is twist on/off. I do like the idea of a button. Modes: Massdrop is 5/32/110 lumens. Thrunite is 0.04/12/120 lumens (Cree XP-G2 R5) or 0.08/10/130 lumens (Cree XP-L). Massdrop's modes seem more useful. Battery life: Equal. Cost: Massdrop is $24.99. Thrunite is $15.95 (Cree XP-G2 R5) or $19.95 (Cree XP-L).
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

jamiesona> How do these compare to the Thrunite Ti3?
you did a good job comparing the details
> Anyone have any thoughts on this?
depends if you want a silent clicky or a twisty, and depends if you want a firefly mode or not, and depends if you want a Nichia LED or not.
I have both Thrunite and Tool. I use the Tool much more, because for me, the firefly mode on the Thrunite is too low for my needs, and I dislike having to twist twice to get useful light for the majority of my needs.
Also, I am a huge Nichia LED fan, because I want High CRI and do not like Low CRI Cool white.
Only the Tool offers a Nichia. The Thrunite is not offered in High CRI, that alone is a deal breaker for my personal preferences.
The Tool w Mechanical switch is LOUD, otoh, because the button sticks up, it is easier to operate, and MUCH easier to find by feel in the dark. One of the things I dont like about the eSwitch, is that in the dark, I sometimes press on the glass lens instead of the switch, by mistake. (especially true when I remove the pocket clip, which imo is impractical because it is not deep carry, except when used to clip the light to a hat. The Mechanical switch is much easier to locate by feel in the dark, otoh, it is less practical to carry at the bottom of a pocket, because the rubber gets hung up in the cloth material, and the rubber button makes the light longer also.
I much prefer the keyring connection point on the eSwitch Tools, over the Mechanical switch models, but, I usually do not clip lights to my keys, I prefer to use the light free of keys.
Price differences are a matter of choice, if you appreciate the features of the eSwitch, I dont think the price is a deal breaker. otoh, if you are happy with a non eSwitch light, then buy whatever makes you happy, at whatever price you can find.

jon_sliderI wish this light was programmable so we could activate an extra-low "firefly" mode, and choose whether the light turns on from dimmest-to-brightest or brightest-to-dimmest. Firefly mode is also sometimes called moonlight mode or a sublumen mode, because it's less than 1 lumen of light. I own an L3 Illumination L10 Nichia 219, and love that I was able to purchase it with 4 modes of output which turn on in order of XL-L-M-H, which are 0.09, 3, 30, and 120 lumens. I frequently use the firefly mode since it's still plenty of light in a dark indoor room, is much less likely to disturb my roommates, and apparently lets the battery last way longer! They quote battery times with a 2500mAh Ni-MH AA battery as 147hr on firefly mode, and 1.5hr on high mode. Obviously that's a AA battery flashlight and this Massdrop is for a AAA battery flashlight so completely different category, but I love the firefly mode feature and the potential ability for programming the modes!

Hey everyone,
Our past drops for these AAA flashlights in Brass, Copper and Titanium have been very popular in the Everyday Carry community and with other members just learning about EDC. A lot of members like the patina you can get on Brass or Copper (and remove if you don't like it), but the 'worn' look and heavier body are not for everyone. The Blue Titanium AAA light has also been a fast seller, but the discussion included some comments about that material's lower ability to dissipate heat, even with the driver mounted to an exposed copper 'pill' - probably not an issue for a light with this much power, but something we listened to.
Thanks to the popularity of past drops (over 10,000 members have joined!) we've been able to make this Aluminum version available. It's got all the same great features, like the titanium clicky switch on the tail, removable and reversible pocket clip, and your choice of CREE or Nichia 219C for LEDs.
At just 12g (without battery), this aluminum model is the lightest one yet, and the material also has a high thermal conductivity for excellent heat dissipation. New for this drop, we've been able to offer five different colors of anodization - Black, Blue, Olive Drab, Red, and Silver - to complement the other items in your EDC.
Thanks to everyone for checking it out, and to those who join for making it possible!
Carry On - Jonas

To help give you and other members a better understand of how this works for regular drops vs. Massdrop Made goods, let me clarify a few things:
1) We do not "pre-order or have on standby" any items that we sell in regular drops, or most collaborations. The purchase orders are made after the drops end in almost all cases.
2) Items that are produced by Massdrop are quite different from brands that we simply resell. Kershaw, for example, is sold from stock that a vendor already has on hand and agrees to reserve for us until the drop ends, then ships within a couple days of the drop ending.
As @Evshrug noted, with products that Massdrop produces and has manufactured exclusively for members, there's an entire production process, plus QC and shipment and clearing customs etc. that has to be done.
Hope that helps to shed some light on the longer-than-expected Estimated Ship Date.
JonasHeinemanI’m cool with QC before they get shipped to me, haha!

which one goes best with a black gent? Silver? Black?
Varholiaglimp

CapitalistCatDepends on the warmth of said gent's skin tone, doesn't it? Every level of white and black can be warm or cold, depending.
I've got a "cold" pale complexion and silver looks much better than gold on me. My girlfriend, on the nether hind, has warm-toned dark skin, which is why I gave her the brass version of this light and a copper peanut Maratac that she wears around her neck on a copper chain. She looks great with both! And she never wears silver, for some reason.
Ye olde gent might want to look at the watches and rings he prefers and pick a torch color that goes with that aesthetic.

Does anyone know where to get a brass clip to switch out the sliver one? It would be cool to have the black flashlight with a brass clip. It would match the spyderco delica super gold steel knife more lol.

Stuck battery in light, clicked the button, nothing happened (normal up to this point as the insert says the cap must charge). However, now that it illuminates, the button does nothing. I can unscrew the cap to cycle through modes but the button does nothing. This happen to anyone else?

ClingmanJust wanted to say thanks for posting this. I thought my light was DOA after trying 3 different batteries in it with no luck. I started the RMA process, but read your post and tried again. I immediately got the light to turn on after putting in one of the same batteries I tried before. Cheers!
