Received mine yesterday. Like others, I was surprised by the lighter than expected color, but I can deal with that. Visual inspection shows no scratches or imperfections. Some stuff on it that's easily cleaned off with a Q tip, not sure what they are. Mine's a barebones, so no keycaps or switches. After a tedious session of clipping the PCB pins off my Aliaz switches, I had everything assembled with GMK Nautilus keycaps. All LEDs working and all keys working and it works on Windows as well as Raspberry Pi - so yes, there are keyboards that work out of the box, but they don't get mentioned usually because that is what we expect to receive.
The feet could be better designed (magnets for both "nubs" on the feet instead of only the larger one) and color was a little surprising, and I wish it remembers the color between disconnects (will look into a firmware fix or workaround for this). Otherwise, I'm quite happy with it. Will probably swap out my Halo Clear w /dev/tty for home use as the Aliaz switches are much quieter.
vrapanI'll add a photo tomorrow, it's too late now to lug out the camera and stuff. I think it'll look better with a darker case, but I think it comes out looking rather nice. I don't particularly care about shine through keycaps, haven't found one I really like. Having the keycaps edge lit actually looks pretty nice to me.
Quick photos of K Type with /dev/tty and CTRL with Nautilus, taken with same aperture and shutter speed, but camera probably white balanced them a little different.
