Nice looking, quite light and compact. I used them mostly snowshoeing.
The metal shaft itself just completely failed and broke as I was going downhill. I weigh 128 lbs.
Cannot recommend for real use or durability.
Hits the right tradeoffs between durability and weight.
These are plenty robust for me and they've held up well. I'm a smaller male and pack light. Might want to be a bit more careful with placement but I don't feel like I need to overly-baby them either. There will be some pole flex when extended. The strap lock style means they may slowly loosen occasionally, but again it's a tradeoff for a minimal design.
I didn't use these since I moved to Florida 2 years ago right after I bought them. ... finally got a chance to get out to some elevation and wow they're super comfy and very very light. I've only used a few other poles, but these are my favorite so far!
Already have a pair of sticks but wanted to have an extra pair for any friends that I go backpacking with that need to borrow some. They worked great! My friend has converted to using poles now. Lightweight, the grip did not get to grimy or slippery, and did not loosen during the hike.
