Updated 8/2:
We have a quick update on the Lift 2.0 Desk. As of today, the drop is 50% shipped. Unfortunately, there was a delay in receiving the full shipment from the vendor, and we now estimate that the remaining desks will ship by the end of next week. We apologize for the delay and overall lack of communication. We're working with the warehouse to prioritize this shipment and we've sent an email to those affected with more information.
Hi everyone,
We have an update on the status of the Massdrop Lift 2.0 Sit-to-Stand Desks. The desks are on their way to our warehouse, and will soon be prepared for shipment. We wanted to let you know some important information about how these desks will ship.
During quality control checks, our vendor noticed that the control panel wasn’t up to the standards we expect. Luckily, they were able to produce a new and improved control panel. However, the packaging was already complete and therefore this new panel will be arriving separately.
For this drop, you can expect there to be a total of three separate shipments, each with their own tracking number.
Package #1 will be the tabletop.
Package #2 will be the table legs, and the first production control panel.
Package #3 will be the new and improved control panel.
The new and improved control panel will have a green dot placed on the back of the control panel, as well as on the outside of its packing box.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the extra shipment. We're looking forward to you receiving the first production of the Massdrop Lift 2.0!
AveryCHi @AveryC, I received my desk last week and things seem to be working fine. Are all shipments from the first drop supposed to receive a separate package with the new control panel? I haven't received anything and would love to know what is going on.
Also, looking at the rest of this thread, there are a lot of people concerned by how the first drop went and the QC issues some people had. I think everyone would appreciate Massdrop acknowledging this and explaining how things will be corrected. Can you please break the radio silence, especially if you're going to be continuing to carry this product.
A few questions:
- What exactly does this 2 year manufacturer's warranty cover? Motor burnout, workmanship defect, etc.? Does Massdrop enter the warranty process at any time?
- Are there options to replace the frame if there are issues with the motor?
- Does this ship flat with assembly required? (I assume yes, but maybe some of the items are pre-assembled already)
- What is the weight of the 60" tabletop? I want to use my own, but I want to compare it to the one that would ship with the desk.
- If I opt out of a tabletop to be shipped with the frame, is mounting hardware included? If not, what mounting hardware is compatible in terms of screw sizes and mount points?
- Is there an option to mount casters to the legs?
- Is there an option to mount a sway bar / cross brace to reduce wobble?
I'm all for adjustable desks being more affordable, but at the same time I also want to ensure if I commit to buying something, it's not going to break a few months after I assemble and use it on a daily basis.
Seriously, will you PLEASE make it WAY more clear when it's a US-only drop, so us internationals don't bother checking it out?! This is so frustrating!
Common sense really says that Massdrop isn't going to be shipping large items of furniture internationally. Same with their 65" TV screens. EU audio offerings? How big are they compared to a desk?
Some things are so obvious that they really shouldn't need to be spelled out with signs.
NotABotYeah, except they HAVE shipped some larger items internationally. The size of the object in a flat-pack condition is irrelevant. And considering they're setting up a shipping facility in Europe, meaning they can ship the products from there rather than the US, would make your comment even more irrelevant. Are you SURE you're not just a trollbot?
Got this at Costco for $179.99 sometime in Q4 of 2017... Albeit a different brand, it’s the exact same thing. I feel like mass drop has become a sellout company. havent seen a single worthy “drop” since October of last year. BUMMER
Florida_PhunGuyAgreed. I have not seen a single "deal" in well over 6 months. They had a vortex vibe keyboard up for a "drop" and it was $10 above retail price, shipping costs were $30 usd to Canada and there were complaints about missing parts like feet missing and keys not working. Sounded like refurbs. Don't think I will ever buy a keyboard from this sight after I saw that disaster.
If I leave a drink on this desk without a coaster and the condensation rolls down and sits on the desk for a few hours, will the surface develop a welt (bump)?
dkremanjWe have two of these as sold by autonomous.ai, and our bamboo/wood tops have not had any swelling. The black top that I had that autonomous.ai replaced (for excessive scratching) under warranty did have spots where the finish lifted and got bubbles under it. Deffo opt for the wood top if you're in this one. It's a great desk at a decent price.
I’ve been looking to get a motorized Sit/Stand in the near future and this desk from Massdrop does sound good. But I wish there was a review from someone who actually has this desk so we can see if it's worth joining the drop.
AntNguyenThis desk is also offered by autonomous.ai - and we have two. We liked the first one so much that we bought a second one. There are some minor detail differences that lead me to believe that MD has specced this one just for them (the feet attached to the legs are different), but the controls and overall design is similar enough to realize the lifting mechanism is the same. It's an awesome desk overall. Super solid, easy to assemble. My only recommendation is to stay clear of the white and black tops and stick with the wood-look (or provide your own top from IKEA or something)> the black is a "piano black" finish that looks great, but picks up microscratches all the time from casual contact. =(
FlorenceChanDotCAThanks for telling them. I didn't think there was anyone else who is smart enough to tell them. Is really is annoying and painful for people who live in Canada or any other place. And it only shows US pricing.
DarkNalelI agree. We have pneumatic ones at work and they're much better than the motorized ones I've used. Aside from being way faster and quieter, they also feel much better to use. No little buttons to mess with and less that can break. And motorized standing desks have always felt so excessive to me...
A desk that can support both sitting and standing positions would have been very appealing had it been an L-shaped (corner) desk. I don't miss carpal tunnel syndrome enough to go back to a regular shape desks. After having this problems solved by using L-shaped desk both at work and at home, this is the only type of desk I'm willing to use. I hope they introduce a Sit-to-Stand version of this type.
Pretty entertaining how easy it is to trigger someone like this, I am just including my review because I bought one on launch day. I'll have this longer than any desk I've owned, and I've owned and sold many electric desks over the years. Whatever makes your keyboard persona happy :)
