Got one and used it as a calculator during a university exam. The MX blues were very soothing, and helped me pass the course. My fellow students now hate me.
Recommended.
I don't get it. We can join the drop to buy this at exactly full MSRP???
When we can get this shipped now from Mechanical Keyboards dot com for the exact same price - or get this here at Massdrop and wait 2+ months? What am I missing here?
ShortbedExactly. Even with shipping and the conversion rate right now, Massdrop is 75-80 bucks cheaper. No-brainer, though it looks like we have to wait till November for shipping, but hey, it can't all be Amazon Prime 1 day shipping. :)
For real, this is a fantastic numpad. I've had it for a month ish now and the only complaint I have is the location of the minus key. I could do without "End" to have the minus key where it belongs.
However, like most recent drops on MD, there's very little benefit. In this case, zero benefit. As in 0% off retail to wait 2 months for something I could have is a couple of days at that same price.
Hold Fn+0 for three seconds. Fn key will flash slowly.
Press the key you want to remap (End, in your case). Fn key will flash quickly and the End key will light up.
Type in the 4-digit ascii code for the character you want the key to send (0045, in your case). See this table for reference https://ascii.cl/
Press Fn+0 to complete the process. The Fn light should return to normal, and your End key now works as a minus key.
mesaoneCool, thanks. As it happens I solved the issue - it was probably just my foolishness as it was a case of enabling/disabling numlock. But thanks for the tip, and that site you linked will be a good reference in future.
Hello friends,
We didn't expect such a rush for this drop!
Ducky has just let us know now that we have allocation to 120 units for this drop.
Apologies for the short notice, we hope to secure more units next time around.
BrainFlushI understand. Most people are quick to assume that drops with limited numbers are a short sighted error on MDs part, when this is almost never the case. Manufacturers are often a real pain to work with.
Just cancelled my order for this. Got it for the same price from Mechanicalkeyboards.com and it was in stock, no two month wait time. Thanks to the comments for saving me lots of time.
Hey Everyone,
Sorry it has taken longer than usual to get an update out. I followed up with a few teams and found out a small portion of this drop has not had their items shipped because we were waiting on a few more keychains from Ducky. Unfortunately they shipped less than needed to fulfill the entire drop.
If you fall into this group, a member of our CS team will be emailing you within the next couple hours with instructions on how to proceed. Our logistics team has confirmed the remaining units will be shipped out within the next 48 hours. I want to apologize again and thank you for your patience and understanding.
SonjaxActually, I have preliminary plans to make a Raspberry Pi-based desktop calculator with a handwired mechanical keypad. I was considering running a TI emulator on it -- I understand there's one for Linux (and have used one on Android). So theoretically, it could be done (though I'm not sure if I'll still need one after I get this). You could make it portable/battery powered if you're willing to spend enough and have it big and heavy enough.
