The DN-1000's cable stiffness issue is by all means off-putting for any prospective buyer, especially at their price point; simply no excuse for it! Were it an isolated incidence, it'd be another story. Unfortunately, it isn't...

NadeshikoThe issue with stiff cables is that it most often leads to an eventual interruption in the audio signal, whereby the signal may begin intermittently cutting off on the effected side(s), and ultimately give out altogether. The earphones themselves sound wonderful, but in the case of their non-removable cable design, in the likelihood of cable stiffening, it matters not how wonderful they sound. Until the manufacturer mends the issue, I'd personally hold off. We aren't talking loose change here either. There are countless alternatives, for which |joker|'s multi review and comparison thread* is an invaluable source.
Bottom line: to any prospective buyers still interested in purchasing these, just be wary of the disclaimer, is all.
