Dynaudio LYD Studio Monitors

The LYD studio monitors come from Dynaudio: a Danish loudspeaker manufacturer known for its sleek designs and proprietary drivers. This series combines the brand’s experience producing reference systems for major studios, home and car audio, digital processing technology, and materials science. Great for monitoring and music enjoyment alike, these powered monitors feature advanced Class-D amplification and a 24-bit/96kHz signal path with advanced DSP. The LYD 5 uses a 5-inch woofer, while the LYD 7 uses a 7-inch low-end driver, and both have two 50-watt Class-D amplifiers. Finally, the LYD 8 boasts an 8-inch driver with a 50-watt high-frequency amplifier and an 80-watt low-frequency amplifier.

For me, the best looking unit is the LYD 7 … The LYD 7 was also my favourite-sounding speaker of the three. If space is your issue but you don't want to compromise sound quality, then you should be looking and listening to the LYD 5. In volume (SPL) alone, they match the LYD 7 almost beat for beat. They are tight and I'm sure very easy to mix on. As with all the LYD speakers, they are very easy to listen to and not fatiguing on the ears … I like the LYD range and I'm sure you will too.”
