However, owning another 7-string, I have to say, I love it.
Yes I play metal. No that's not why I like it. It opens up so many possibilities for scales. It's almost a simpler way of playing. And, yes, if you like to play low notes and power chords, this will do more than the job. No more drop D ruining all the scale patterns just to hit a lower note.
