Let’s face it, not every IEM pairs well with every song in your music library, especially when the drivers lean towards the low end. If you’re looking for something to nicely complement your favorite treble tweaked tunes, try on the Fidue A83 Hybrid IEM, the perfect portable solution for treble heads Read More
I brought these separate to the drop, but am on my second pair which now also need replacing. he problem seems to come from the cable having no free rotation.
So true. I wish next time Fidue will make their future Massdrop prices more competitive and better than what's currently in the online prices because that's what Massdrop is all about. We can sacrifice waiting a little bit more for our Massdrop items to ship to us because of the excellent Massdrop low price or 'group buying'. Too bad the price of this drop is not better than Amazon (+ quick delivery) so I'm not really so surprised this drop didn't take off.
Honestly if this drop only gets to the $299 mark, might as well order it straight from Amazon and actually get it within a reasonable amount of time. Since it is $279.99 on Amazon at the moment and is Prime eligible.
thanks for the tip, but unfortunately, I do not know when and where I am moving... only that I am moving in the next 6 weeks and an approximate area of Australia. And considering postage from Massdrop to Australia usually takes several weeks, I can not commit!! Urg! :(
Not happy with these IEMs, they are veiled and grainy, and not neutral like they are labelled to be. But, I suppose they are a good price for what they are....
+1
Though the SE535's treble was rather too polite for my taste (i.e., partly lacking higher frequency air and extension; especially when directly compared against today's hybrids), those mids and lows I admire to this very day. Needless to say, it's best for joshua.heo to compare and contrast any suitable option, and the SE535 is still a perfectly suitable recommendation.
P.S. Pertaining to the Titan 1's treble, tip-rolling works wonders. The triple-flange eartips (Monster branded or similar), oft mentioned within the Head-Fi thread, are only tips I've used since the Titan 1 arrived, and there's quite literally no sibilance to speak of. As always, ymmv of course. A fit as deep as the tri-flanges require requires getting used to.
PolygonGood call. That's why even though the $500 SE535 has full and lush mids, I'd still pick the $90 over it anytime anyday. Perhaps coz I'm more of a bright and treble enhanced fan rather than bass. Also since most of my music is in the Classical genre. Sibilance is not really a problem for me even if I get a doze now and again. I found the best silicon tip for my comfort since I'm not really into foams. That's why I'd really want to try the A83's mids-focused sound signature. Looks like this Drop is at a stand still, sadly. For those that are not happy with their pair, please email me schoolbook at gmail. Hope this post is okay with Massdrop. If not, mods apologies. :)
Review: Initial opinion was "did I pay this much for this junk, too much sibilance", turns out I didn't have a proper seal and the treble was just way too much. I ended up using monster ear tips and treble reducer in eq settings. And holy shit these sound good
I get background noise when I plug them straight into my mac, so these iem's are sensitive just like proclaimed. I'm using them with the beyerdynamic a200p portable dac.
After everything I mentioned above, the vocals are clear, mids and highs are sharp, still a tad too much treble. Bass is punchy and great. All of Taylor swift songs sound great using these iem's, I'll burn these in for a couple of days and see if there's much difference
