Product Description
This is the sequel to the X3, Fiio’s wildly popular first foray into the world of digital audio players. The compact, all-metal chassis will look familiar, but the second-generation X3 improves upon its predecessor in just about every other department, from ergonomics to navigation to sound Read More
I have received my x3ii and when i went to authenticate the player with the scratch coated code it has come back as "The product is not manufactured by Fiio Company."
Has anyone else came across this issue?
I too would like to know how the authentication problems have been resolved. If these are not recognized as authentic by Fiio, what, if any recourse do we have?
What else would lead Fiio to offer remote digital authentication? (and the potential of failing to authenticate)
Fake x3? Maybe, I'm not sure. But fake Fiio products? - Evidently, yes.
Google "fake fiio", there seem to be companies selling Fiio clones.
Good Evening Gents & Ladies.
If I were to have around $300 to spend on a portable player with best bang for buck so to speak, would anyone have some recommendations for me? I have an iPod Classic 120Gb in perfect condition, just times have moved on...big time lol!
Thank you :)
MusicFuelsYourSoulI'm having the same issue. 6th Generation iPod Classic loaded with ALAC music. It's paired to to a Fiio E12. I'd like a new DAP also but a battery replacement is cheap for the Classic. Can't find a DAP with enough power to be able to ditch the Fiio.
I own one of these I got directly from Fiio but I'm not really satisfied with it. This price point is pretty great for an X3, but I don't think I'll buy another Fiio device after my X1's click wheel stopped functioning properly and the X3 I got to replace it works most of the time yet needs to be hard reset (with a pin/paper clip) about once every other day.
The UI is extremely poor and for playlists you cannot reasonably make one on the device itself. If you want a playlist with tracks from all over your library you'll be better off doing it on your computer and importing.
They sell these devices and update them for six months and then no updates though there are plenty of bugs and things to fix about them. Seems like Fiio isn't interested in really extending support for very long on these devices that have plenty of bugs.
As far as usage goes it sounds great, battery lasts a long time, it's not a huge thing.
Do you have a link to any for the X3?
My biggest problem is the inability to make playlists on the fly without opening a track, playing it (interruption whatever else is playing), and then adding to a new playlist.
I will randomly DJ artist spaces I hang out at and usually do it from my device. Oftentimes these days I'll use the X3 as a DAC than a DAP because at least on Android I can use PowerAmp which IMO has the best Enqueue interface.
I've had this for about 10 months. It's really quite nice for the price. Although it claims to support DSD files, I have found that it just doesn't quite have the horsepower to keep up with the bitstream - it stutters, even with a very fast SD card. But with any other format, it really is a great little DAP.
CapnRI contacted massdrop. They worked with Fiio and got this resolved in a few days. Ultimately my unit passed authentication on Fiio site. Kudos to massdrop for good customer service
Hi guys, i got 2 questions (newbie here)
1) Will this Fiio make a better sound on my FLAC files even if i'm using a low impedance headphone (18 ohm) ? (I usually listen music on my phone, an iPhone 6)
2) How do i know the shiping price ? (I live in France)
Thanks guys
K-Xylo The Fiio DAC is a slightly warm sound, nothing too much but very pleasant, reasonably powerful amp for a mobile solution at this price point, will drive just about any IEM you throw at it well and most headphones aside from the super high Ohm and super inefficient. (slots nicely into the K5 dock should you in the future need more power) Mine is 2 years old wiuth plenty of use and still looks and sounds like new.
You can find the shipping price if it is hidden by pressing the join drop button, it will then show the full price and shipping to your country.
