Are we getting another drop?

I thought I was pretty clear regarding the amount of head time it's had. Look, they're both really quite remarkable (thx00 & sonorous). It should just be understood they have different talents/strengths/emphasis. I had a singer reinforce my observation the sonorous's is in the treble, presence, and low bass (if the amp can drive the ridiculously low 8 ohm impedance; more later). This really serves to bring out and forward vocals and guitars. The thx00 has a much fatter midbass to accompany the equally strong low bass, great and more natural thru mids (stand-up bass finger plucks and slides and string flutter are more pronounced and almost visible) has great high highs, but is much more subdued in the presence region. It is much easier to listen to for longer for this reason. I can get slightly agitated from the sonorous at high levels for long. I recommend everyone with access to both listen to Piltch & Davis, Take One, track Horizontal Blue (buy it from HDTracks; its a marvel of a record). What I say should be evident. The stand up bass and cymbals takes front stage on the THX00. Less so on the Sonorous where the bass is more an accompaniment to the piano which now comes forward, with drums; the vocalizations made in the second half by I think the bass player that are way in the background on the thx00, are much more pronounced and forward on the Sonorous. At $400/$500 both are buys; and I did. Add an extra $150-ish to the Sonorous and I'd opt for just the THX00. Sorry Final. Now, a word on ease of drive. I am using my McIntosh MHA100 driving both on high gain, autoformers on low 8-40 ohm impedance. So, there is no problem at all delivering the current to the sonorous. But do this comparison with my newly delivered Opus #1 player, and one finds the low low bass is noticibaly lessened on just the sonorous. The 8 ohm current draw is a tough one for these little devices. No such problem driving the 25 ohms of the THX00.
