I'll never claim this is the best DAC/Amp ever. But considering how much, or should I say how little this cost, it is incredible. I use them to drive a pair of AKG 240 headphones. No problem driving them what so ever, abet I'm first to admit this is not a difficult challenge.
Well, in my limited experience with this product it SUCKS, it broke JUST after the 30 day period for replacement and Drop, failed to offer a replacement! So, I paid over $1 per day for it before it broke and now I am out that hard earned money with a paper weight. BUYER BEWARE!!!
This is an entry level device, I know. But I do not have high-end headphones either that would need a better one. My use case: HP notebook with really crappy sound and headphone-out quality. Anything is better than that. But now, that I have it, I also use it with my raspberry pi: sometimes I need it because the sound quality coming via the screen is not really good enough, especially low frequency sounds.
So far, so good. No complaint.
It's not underpowered. For its price it cleans up and amps the sound coming from my devices incredibly well. Maxed out it starts to lose clarity but it's definitely not the point of this device.
If you understand you're getting a pretty nuetral sound with just enough power to drive most headphones slightly louder and clearer than say your laptop. You're golden
