The packaging in a plastic envelope was unfortunate. All the expansion boxes came pretty significantly crushed.

Gloom is a great game, works well in a friends/ family gathering/ party setting. I don't think I need $60 worth of Gloom just yet, however. I only own the base game, which is 2-4 players. I've considered buying an expansion, but probably only one of them.
