not sure what to expect when I ordered it, and was pleased with the purchased. it has a nice well defined base for a ear bug, not overwhelming , and not "fuzzy". nice clear separation of instruments too. can't go wrong with the price.
Considering the price of these earbuds, I am very impressed. Firstly, they are the comfiest earbuds I have ever owned (Rose Masya, VE Monk) and I can wear them for long periods of time without discomfort. Secondly... sub-bass?From an earbud?! Seriously, I was not expecting the bass that these produce with foam covers fitted (not the ones with circular cutouts - those were a tad harsh in the treble). The highs are crisp and not fatiguing; overall the sound signature is actually fairly well balanced with a bump in the lower frequencies. The HE 150PROs have a surprisingly narrow soundstage for a pair of open back earbuds, but in all, these are a very fun pair of earbuds. I should also note that, at 150ohms, they are harder to drive than most earbuds.
So far I am having a great time with these old style buds. I love the mid range and if you make them fit tightly the bass gets intense and low. However they don't provide enough isolation and you will hear pretty much all surrounding noises.I didn't realize how much I miss the direct and spatial sound of the classic design buds until I've heard these.
