Pure Neutral Amplification
The iCAN is a neutral amp with some impressive additional features. To start, the iCAN is a blank canvas. That transparency lets you appreciate your source whether it's digital or analog without any unnecessary coloration. That said, if you are looking for some color, the engineers at ifi included bass boost and crossfade functions. The bass boost (XBass) works exactly as intended, increased kick without any upper frequency distortion. Crossfade (3D) works just as well, adding dimension without distortion. Finally, the Direct Drive circuit design keeps the signal path as short as possible, removing any remaining sources of distortion.
