RayFI have looked at items like these YU6 speakers and had a similar question oin the advantage. For the HD6XX or Panda headphones I can see the advantage for certain but not on some of the other items. I'm OK with that, everything can't be less expensive. Is there a different advantage that I'm unaware of, maybe the Drop points? Not sure but interested in finding out. Thanks!

In general? So far as I can tell, one advantage that may apply to nearly everything MD sells, is they sometimes ship products to countries other retailers don’t.
The points? Maybe—can’t hurt.
For me it’s about finding products I wasn’t previously aware aware of, then discussing them with others.
As for theses speakers, couldn’t say—but I bought a kinda’ similar pair of JBL powered monitors (near-field speakers) and I enjoy them immensely. Had I not discovered MD, I wouldn’t have known they existed!
RustyTackTo be honest with you, I would rather pay the extra and get it off Amazon or elsewhere. The est. shipping date, lost orders, and damaged packaging are not worth it. The points are not worth the gamble.
RayFWell, if you live in other couhtries, there is no guarantee your MD order will even arrive up to 3 months later. MD CS just tells you to wait. Then you have to go through the entire process for them to send you another one. Very unpleasant experience.
However, yes. There are a multitude of products on here we did not know before / need tbh. But it is nice to know others opinion.
The points have an expiry date - if you found nothing useful, you lose your points. If you have had unpleasant drop experience like me, it will hold you back from using it. I had $25 in points or credit I simply did not want to use because I found Amazon had better experience shipping internationally.

To be candid, I was speaking of another place and time, when when the original Massdrop existed and the site was helmed by people with expertise in their given communities, and who absolutely gave a damn about the place.
Sadly, those days are l-o-n-g behind us.
Even during their best days, MD seldom had the best prices--anyone who found better prices (myself included) generally purchased elsewhere, with Amazon often being the no-brainer, better choice.
Obviously I haven't purchased anything here since the place went to straight hell, but I occasionally check back to survey the wreckage, and to reply to comments--whether directed at me or not.
Force of habit I suppose?
RayFHahah I would agree. I come back here when I missed out on a Dwarf Factory group buy on their site. But my biggest joy was finding @Zambumon MT3 Serika R2 keycaps on group buy! For some absurd reason Amazon will not ship @MiTo 9009 to my address, so here I am on Drop again in the gb. In love with his legends.
