No-FREAKING-vember ship date?!!!! What--they have to grow the Cordura Nylon plants from seeds to weave the fabric, or maybe we're waiting for the nine-year old Cambodian old factory workers become legal-aged? You know, it's not like these things are scarce out in the world. I'd start with Jet Pens and then work my way to Amazon

The ship date was wrong. No idea why, but I received my shipping notification on 10/16 and it is scheduled for delivery (FedEx) this Saturday 10/20.

I love this brand and its products. But I agree that it is unfortunate that this case doesn't hold a Field Notes notebook without bending it. I would purchase another one of these cases if that design flaw was fixed.

Wolfgang_BachI almost bought one, going off the pictures, then i read the comments. It’s true that a field notes book won’t fit without bending? That’s pretty deceptive that they would show a field notes in the pictures if that’s the case.

JF24You can actually see it in one of the pictures. The Field Notes book fits, but it warps slightly in order to do so. It really is a minor issue, but one that I really hope Manhattan Portage fixes.

I have been looking at these for a while, but the fact that the pocket doesn’t hold a standard field notes without bending makes this a non-starter. I can’t imagine this flaw requires more than a couple (2-3) mm difference in the design. Any chance this will get solved, or are we going to see this drop continue unaltered until the existing manufacturing run has been sold? If the latter, any idea when that will be?

I'm a little pissed off about this. Real happy that it arrived so quickly, especially given it was coming to Aus, but my field notes won't fit in the central sleeve. Oh.... hang on a tic. If i bend them they will. But they stay bent. Terrific... I bought this especially to put field notes notebooks in, and relied on the pics. Bad move. Not happy Massdrop.

I just received my shipping notice for this drop. I thought I would be waiting until March....needless to say, I'm pleasantly surprised.
Edit (October 20): received my Mini Folio in stealth color. I like it a lot! It appears to be well made, with quality cordura nylon and stitching. There is a pocket on either side of the center flap, and the flap itself will cover the entire length of the pens in the pen pockets. I will enjoy using this item and would like to buy more as gifts on a future drop. Thank you to Manhattan Portage and Massdrop for shipping the item months earlier than expected.

Very happy with the size and general appearance of the pouch. I use the central sleeve for random pens and highlighter. Provides a compact purse size carrying case for my pens. I came super fast as well. Merry Christmas to me from me with love ❤️

I have to say that the price is enticing. But I recently bought a zippered , leather, cover for double the price for 5 pens and a Field notes type of notebook designed in a similar fashion . The big problem with my item is, when you open the notebook to write on the left side, you will feel the pens in the back, no way to write well on the left side. I consider the item that I bought, a luxurious item to keep 5 expensive pens, but not the right thing to write on a Field Notes unless I take the notebook out from the folio which is NOT designed to Be done, but kept tucked on the right side. . What a waste of money! I really like MPortage design and for the price, it is practical to carry the pens And notebook; it is perfect if you like taking the notebook out for writing. I haven’t found this item elsewhere, so...nice item. Only detriment to buying is the shipping date. you be the judge of its practicality and pricing. I have two other portage cases for pens, one was not practical, the latest I bought was well designed and soft enough and roomy enough for my 5 Pelikans.

abigail_freeYes, and that is something that I like and I paid double for leather and It’s designed to stay in, tucked on the opposite side of the folio. This is better, I agree, and less expensive. And designed to take the notebook out. Maybe I got a bit confused in my wording, with iPad writing and cutting and pasting too much with sticky fingers. I think it is a good BUY. I think I fixed my previous opinion.

Why oh why does this not have this inner flap for notebooks designed in such a way that the notebook would _not_ need to be taken out of the case to be used? You know, one half-cover a bit reinforced to keep its shape if there is no notebook in it, and another one needs not even be reinforced (one side of it having a vertical slip pocket to serve as, well, half-cover, and the other, "outside" side, having a horizontal slip pocket for a second notebook). As it is, this object would just increase the entropy of fumbling with your writing implements, instead of decreasing it, as proper carry objects are supposed to do.
