Somewhere between a gentleman’s folder and a tactical knife, the Maserin Trigger sports an unconventional look. The handle is made up of two parts: a stainless steel frame surrounded by your choice of bocote, cocobolo, or ebony wood scales that cover about two thirds of the surface Read More
Very well built knife. Unique in appearance. Strops up to razor sharpness. There are no regrets about acquiring this knife. Almost has what I call, a "Steampunk" look.
Excellent build quality. Made in Italy, which is my second best country for build quality... behind the USA. Japan manufacturing would be next. The only thing I would change would be to lower the blade release lever a bit when it is in the closed position---it sticks up a small amount above the knife back, and is a potential hang up point when getting it out of your pocket.
BenjaboolySadly, I agree. I have ZT, Spyderco, Viper, Boker (German, not Plus), We Knife and many more lower priced knives in my collection...and We Knives are by far the best fit and finish. I cant find even small defects on any of my We Knives. ZT I see as their American competition...and I have had off center blades, uneven grinds and detent-rock on alot of my ZTs (0450, 0900, 0562, 0460). The only 2 ZTs I have that has no issues are the 0055 and the 0456. I would even put Kizer above ZT, even though I have had a couple issues with them.
I hope it changes because I would like to buy American made, but my dollar just stretches further with the high quality knives coming out of Chinas better brands. Hell, even their cheapies are getting better (Sanremu, Ganzo, Fura, etc). I steer away from them due to the "attack of the clones", but the quality and value is there.
Great EDC ! Not only unique because of the way it closes, it's just the right size to put in your pocket and no one knows it's there but you. Super sharp and comfortable. I think this is also great looking. Zero hot spots. Get one, I own there with differentvwood handles.
Meh. Good build quality but the “trigger“ is all marketing gimmick with no real functionality. It doesn’t even assist the blade opening, much less trigger it to open. Too big and heavy to be an EDC in my opinion, unless you’re still wearing baggy jeans from the 90’s or are the size of Dwayne Johnson. Mine’s for sale if anyone wants it.
I had to return this knife on the last release because the scales were very poor. They had machining marks and on one side they hung over the knife. I was thinking of fixing it myself but said why should I buy a new knife and have to take that risk. Maserin needs to improve their quality control substationally.
