Can Massdrop send a memo to Allen Edmonds saying "take your time, focus on quality control," please? Everyone who's handled this product has fawned over the shape, material and feel of the boots -- and has also been totally frustrated by stitching failure and wonky quarters.
Paul Grangaard has stated that the company is trying to expand its customer base; this collaboration with Massdrop is a perfect opportunity to reel in 'forever customers' AND the MDxAE chukka is most definitely a competitor to Alden product (irrespective of whether AE sees itself as being in competition with Alden). I'm waiting four months for a J.Fitzpatrick loafer because I know it'll be a stellar product, I'll wait a few more weeks for this chukka if it means I get secure stitching, even quarters and clean welt joins.
Dear Allen Edmonds: "It's ok bb, slow down."
