Arriving with a full arsenal of possibilities from the get-go, the Mini I features four input options- USB, AES/EBU, optical, and coaxial- and two output options- unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR. No matter which set-up you choose, the two internal AD1955 DAC chips convert your audio into the highest possible quality and sample rate. As for the amplification side of the equation, two operational amps (OP275 and OPA2134) drive your speakers and a dedicated headphone amp drives headphones with up to 300 Ohms of impedance. For even further versatility, the Mini I can also be used as only a pre-amp or a DAC by switching modes.

To ensure all that sweet sound stays safe and undistorted, the Matrix Mini I includes a shielded toroidal transformer, an EMI filter, and a multi-stage stabilized power supply. Reading your settings off the digital LCD display, you can easily adjust the volume, turn the power on or off, or switch between inputs via the analog knob.
