I get that the meander symbol was used by Golden Dawn.
It's also on the cup this is designed after. It's also all over Greek architecture and mosaics. It's also one of reasons I bought this set.
Golden Dawn also doesn't exist anymore:
"In September 2019, Golden Dawn's headquarters in Athens, were closed and dissolved, only two months after the party's defeat in the July general elections. The NGO KEERFA described this development as being "a victory of the anti-fascist movement". The party's website also became unavailable."
Check out this list and ask yourself if all of them (including "100%", the Coors logo, futhark, ≠, etc.) should be proscribed regardless of context forever https://www.adl.org/hate-symbols

That Logo has been around for centuries hence why preclude it only, to recent political meanings here?
The Far Right just like the Nazi's, have always stolen past logos (from other countries and cultures) and then reinterpret it for themselves, in selling their version of 'supremacy'.
That is were these groups have always failed, trying desperately to steal logos and images from a historical context that have no relevance to their own current, perverted ideology.
It will never stop because most of these groups lack any real meaning or honesty, to their addiction.

callowI’m confused because they look similar but the MG Wahtsy swirls have an extra turn unlike the logo for Golden Dawn.

This cup design is called Anthora. The designer, Leslie Buck, was a Czech Holocaust survivor. He chose the Greek iconography to appeal to his company's target market: Greek diners. hey - of course im sure this is 100% unintentional, but the novelty pattern icon is the exact logo used (sadly) by a greek nationalist neo nazi organization (golden dawn).:(

i wasnt accusing him of doing it negligently or intentionally - and im very well aware that the icon is used elsewhere (like the inspiration for the set itself). unfortunately, i just dont think he or drop should use the icon given it has been (very sadly) misappropriated by this golden dawn group as the outside observer may easily jump to the wrong conclusion, in today's world more than ever.
