Easy to mount. Doesn't fall off. Not once. Easy one handed placement of phone.

Holds very firmly. The phone jaws have a strong grip, which makes it somewhat difficult to put the phone in with one hand, but ensures your phone will stay in place even on the roughest roads. The suction cup seems to have a thin layer of a super-grippy material bonded to it. Even without engaging the locking lever, the suction cup does not want to release from the glass you've placed it on. Once the lever is engaged, this mount is rock solid. It's a little bulky, but you can't really see it once your phone is mounted in it. It also only has tilt/swivel movement. I highly recommend leaving the protective cover on the suction cup while you put your phone in the grip and move it around to find the ideal location to mount it. It's a lot easier to slide around to test mounting spots while the cover is still in place.

I'm very happy I purchased this mount. It's rock-solid on the windshield. It's small enough to easily fit in any center console. It doesn't require any fiddling to securely hold various sized devices (you can even insert a device one-handed by tipping it in edge-wise and pushing against the spring clamp until it fits). In short, the mount is very well designed and worth every penny.
Note to those who've had suction cup failures: I live in boiling Arizona - I always remove the mount when not in use. I've had devices bake onto windshields before. No plastic on earth will withstand UV forever. Yeah, it's a hassle, but not a problem specific to the Montar mount!

The phone mount worked well for about a year before the spring in the left side broke. Now the mount is no longer adjustable on that side, and it will not securely hold my phone. I expected more durability for the price that I paid.

Internal Spring broke after a few months. It was great while it lasted but do not recommend it.

Spring clamps have started to give out...it may break any day now. I question the durability of their springs. Fix this issue and I will buy another one. Btw I have an iPhone X with a cover. Update: the plastic that held the spring finally broke. So to fix this I super glued it back together. So far it’s holding up.

Great until it broke
This mount worked very nicely for me, holding my phone firmly in place regardless of the angle to which it was adjusted. Only in the most extreme changes of temperature did I experience any problem with the suction cup coming away from my windshield. Unfortunately, the mount broke one day last month. I attempted to contact the manufacturer, which claims to offer a two year warranty on all their products except those purchased on eBay or Amazon, due to counterfeiting. Multiple messages from me led to zero responses from them. I wrote to Drop to complain, and was offered no help, since according to the customer service representative at Drop, the fact that Drop purchased and resold the mounts effectively voided the warranty. How wonderful! Two absolute garbage companies that do not give a shit about their customers.

Solid suction. Not so solid plastic parts. Fully Functional for about 6-12 months.
The Good: The suction on this thing was amazing. Very solid hold without shakes or wobbles. The Bad: Cheap plastic internals. There are two springs inside the mount. One for each grip. Each spring is connected to 2 very small plastic posts. Springs themselves are good quality springs. Posts are not. One snapped off about 6 months in and I wasn't able to get a refund. Product was still half functional though. The next spring snapped the post after about 3 years. So technically this product could remain half functional for up to three years! I give this 2 stars since it broke pretty early on due to parts that are definitely going to break after normal use.

At first I thought, wow what a quality universal car mount for smartphones, but then as time went on (about 6-9 months) the left side of the clamp's spring gave out and died. I admit this was probably my fault for pulling it too far, but then just recently I had the phone snug in the mount with the right spring working just fine and then bam it failed while I was driving. My phone fell out and into the passenger foot area, while I was on a trip, so that really sucked. To my dismay, you can't order replacement parts for this item, but it feels like there should be replacement parts for it. The coupling where you attach the spring loaded arms (left/right) comes off, so it's a bit weird you can't replace it with like a... replacement part of the same item. It turns out you just have to buy a completely new one. It should technically be under warranty, but we'll see how that goes, even if I get it replaced I am not sure I would give it more than two stars due to the fact I imagine with light/medium use the new one will fail in relatively the same time frame. I don't know if I would recommend this item or not, its suction power is amazing, truly amazing. The spring clamp quality is deceptive because once it fails there is zero way to fix it at all, so you're left wondering what to do now with this paperweight.
