Though it's only the size of a standard house key, the MSTRMND keychain tool can open many more doors than the one on your front porch. It’s loaded with a whopping 20 functions—from opening bottles and tightening bolts, to splitting pills and cutting wire Read More
It’s a really cool item that’ll do a lot of things for you. You don’t even notice the value, and it’s easy to forget you have it, because it’s just key sized.
It’s a pretty handy little tool to have and doesn’t add much weight. I keep it on my lanyard to easily take it off whenever I need it for something. It’s not as strong or sturdy as big multitools, but I’ve always found those too heavy to carry around. If it was a sturdier material it’d be better, but it was worth it anyway for as often I end up using it.
Haven't found the tool as useful as I thought I would and the functionality I do use (bottle opening and prying) ends up being uncomfortable or downright painful because the tool is too small (at least for large hands like mine) and has too many sharp protrusions for various functionality (e.g. using the bottle opener). I keep it on my keychain because it doesn't take up much space, but I'm using other tools for bottle opening and prying duties and it may not live long in my EDC.
Like all these little keychain tools it'll depend on what the user cares about most. I've had several (gerber shard, this one, some kickstarter doodads, etc) and have discovered that what I care about most are bottle opener, ability to pry, flat head, and scraping. Because of the MSTR's thinness and multiple sharp corners I found it overall uncomfortable to use and carry.
Now I used the brew-pry from riven knife works since it does what I want comfortably so if you are like me I'd give that a look. For a cheaper recommendation try the gerber shard provided the pointy end doesn't bother you/ your seat or you file it down.
Steel is to weak - it bends a bit when I try to use it as a screw driver... To open a bottle works fine, but for such topic it's a little too expensive...
I got similar tool from different supllier = much better quality/steel hardness in similar price...
