I have not bought many boxes in the past, so there were a few that I was hoping to get and I did get lucky and was sent one I was hoping for. Not sure of its true value or if it was one of the top percent or not, or if my luck will hold for the next one. It would be nice to know how many of each were sent out.

Dragon's Mae and Iconic Masters here. Overall value was a wash from current prices but it was a fun drop. Hard to expect much more though. The idea is for the seller to make money, not give out gold mines. A few of us get lucky in the drop, a few get hosed. Kinda like opening packs. Now, stash or draft?

I made out ok on this drop, but I offer caution to everyone else. Mass drop has yet to provide any information as to how these boxes are “randomly” selected and they should NOT be trusted on pure blind faith. Things like this should have open results on each drop to show what boxes got picked and why. This is just plain sense.
When lotteries are held we get to know if anyone won or not and the public doesn’t simply take them at their word. Neither should you. Insist that Massdrop reveal how boxes are picked and which boxes are picked so people can participate with full knowledge that they are not being taken advantage of. This doesn’t guarantee that all those who participate will “win out” but that at least some are. As it stands we have no reason to believe that this is a fairly operated “lottery”.

Do not recommend ever participating in the grab bag unless every product in the selection is something that you want. A large number of the participants in this grab bag revealed their box to find that each one of us got a low value box. It is definitely a "buyer's beware" type of deal, but it only takes one lesson to learn that Massdrop knew how to get rid of their unwanted products. DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY GRAB-BAG DROPS. I would have been happy to see someone get something nice, but when each of us revealed low value boxes, we all understood what was going on.

I absolutely agree with what you're saying. My point is that this "grab bag" is not random in the sense of selection. There was a bias by Massdrop and that was to disguise this drop as a way to unload undervalued product. Now, I could be wrong and those that did get a 1% box didn't respond to the thread, then my theory wouldn't be true. But with what evidence we have now, it's pretty clear that all low valued boxes were distributed first (or possibly only distributed). It's a cheap tactic to mislead customers this way, but possibly legal. This review is just a warning to others that this is not randomly selected, it is selected distribution to random customers.

JonneyMoonThat makes sense.. I didnt realize that no one reported getting a good box at all.. I saw under the Fat Pack Grab bag where someone got an Innistrad and someone else got a Scars of Mirrodin so I figured if customers got good ones there the same would hold true here. But, I do think more boxes, closer to the total available, are being bought in the Fat Pack Grab Bags so the odds of someone getting valuable ones would be higher..
The best way to know would be to have one of these grab bags sell 100% and know what every customer received.
