JoebobbillyfrankMy oakleys are non polarized black iridiums , better than anything i tried with polarized lens .
People actually want them when driving on a sunny day.
JoebobbillyfrankThey're pretty darn good for not being polarized. That said I contacted Oakley vault near me and you would need to call Oakley direct for replacement lenses for $90. But even with buying new lenses you can't beat that price for a sweet pair of shades and two sets of lenses. I found my Tinfoil Carbon for $55.
I had a pair of this model and the temple detached because it is only attached to the hinge with two tiny rivets. The hinge also required a heavy effort and did not feel smooth. Oakley's quality has definitely declined after they were bought by Luxottica.
I'm with you that polarized lenses are better but from experience they can peel over time or when not properly maintained. I have non-polarized sunnies of the same age and they're still fine except for minor scratches from normal wear and tear.
GES11TFor that price I probably would have bought these and gotten better polarized lens later if I felt like I needed them. Just sucks the drop is for this ugly color scheme/combo that I am not a fan of otherwise I would have joined. Still wish Massdrop didn't cancel my order on the Jupiter Carbon Ferrari drop they did a couple months ago...I really liked those and am still butthurt about it.
AdelscottI wear rx sunglasses (from Oakley, non polarized) when motorcycle riding because with polarized you can't see reflection from puddles in the road, makes it dangerous because if you hit a patch of water mid turn you could have a wreck. I like knowing where the water is, even though it would be nice to have other times. Just depends on usage.

Pre-ordered these and its Tincan Carbon counterpart back in early 2014. I wear one or the other on a daily basis. They get tossed around if I am not paying attention. but most of the time I baby them, since they were nearly $300 each (after shipping). But they are my all time favorite sunglasses. Since 2014, I only broke the Tinfoils once. But it had nothing to do with Oakley quality, just my own stupidity. They repaired them free of charge, gave me an rma number and a shipping label, and I took them to a UPS store. Took a month or so, but it was good with me, since I didn't have another $300 for another pair:) but to those worried about the non-polarized lenses, please don't worry. Whatever their process is in making these, it is somehow better. At work, during lunch I usually sit outside with my co-workers and there are a couple of guys with polarized Ray-Bans. They are constantly having to readjust their seating positions if the sun is glaring off of the car windshields. But with these it just doesn't affect me. As far as the lens coloring, it is completely random. My pre-accident Tinfoils were almost completely red with just a hint of blue and purple on the edges. The post-accident pair is nearly opposite, mostly blue with a slight hint of red and almost no purple. Sorry for the long winded post, hopefully those on the fence give these a chance. In my opinion, at $110 you can't go wrong. Thanks for reading!
GNprimeI'd like to add just one thing to this. I sold sunglasses for a living for a long time. The one thing to be careful of with these oakleys is wearing them up on your head/over your hat. Unlike other oakleys with the plastic frame, these will take a set much easier, and if you wear them up on your head or hat all the time they're going to stretch out and the fit will become wonky.
The other issue we got with these is that the paint is abysmal. They want to chip and scratch off if you look at them wrong.
