A new IEM from Ostry, the maker of the highly regarded KC06 and KC06A, the KC09 delivers neutral sound and handsome aesthetics. It features a single 10-millimeter dynamic driver inside a housing made of hand-polished Seiko titanium and leather: an uncommon combination of materials in a universal IEM of this price Read More
Everyone was talking about these when I got it years ago and it didn't impress me in any categories. To make the matter worse, the build quality is poor and the pair started falling apart in less than a year.
Different sound signature compared to the KC06A. A warmer and more rounded sound, with increased bass and slightly decreased treble sharpness. Loses out slightly in resolution and clarity/transparency
These are good iems for the price. The build quality is very nice and sound is on the warm side. Good amounts of bass and treble. Typical V shaped sound sig but does it well without fatigue.
A good value for the money. Cables are swappable. Diaphragm drivers rather than armature, the latter sounding too
digital for my taste. Good Hz response from low, to mid, to high. Fit the ear well. I bought some TFZ Queens from MD,
and I like their resolution better.
ManzanitaBoyI also, got the kc09s but it sounds a bit congested to me. How do the queen's compare to these? I like big bass, with thick but clear and well separated mids and not too relaxed highs
These (KC09's) don't have an artificially boosted bottom, as others claim. Rather they offer a good foundation. I listen to actual music (classical, jazz). What a good bud offers over a balanced armature driver? A wholesome mid-bass. B/A's sound thin and don't have meat in the middle. There are exceptions, but only a few. With a good amp and source material these well made buds can sound like a good over-ear. The KC06A's sound boosted in the bottom by contrast
I personally enjoy these IEMs for portable listening. They have a decidedly boosted low end, with very pronounced bass, though I don't find it to be overwhelming. If you're looking for a very balanced or reference style IEM these probably aren't for you, however if you want something that's fun to listen to as an on the go audio solution to compliment a larger system at home, I would say these are a great pick. They're comfortable and easy to fit, at least in my experience, with no real complaints in that department.
The detachable cable and premium materials are a big plus, since the IEMs feel solid and well made, even if the design is hit or miss depending on your taste.
Too much low frequency, everthing I tried was unpleasent. I prefer the previous version with better balance. The concept has changed ( not a improvement), not a nice experience I has to get rid of them. I would not recomend to a friend.
