Really wish I had bought more than one... Love this pen and it's simple, clean design. It writes like a dream. My son absconded with it which is ironic because I got it for him as a Christmas gift, selfishly tried it out first, then decided to keep it for myself. That it wound up in his possession in October is poetic justice!

Picked one up last drop as a throw-around grab-and-go pen. I've taken copious notes with it since, and find it comfortable (my glove size is M-L) and the (M) nib to be very precise (I thought was an EF) without feeling 'scratchy.' The hinged clip is nice, especially for this price range. Packing is sparse, but this is a value segment pen so it's not unexpected. Is it appreciably better than the Pilot Metropolitan? Not really. But it's comparable, which makes it a good pen and a solid value at $15 - I'll likely buy another this drop as a gift for a friend who has expressed an interest in my FP's. Like Pilot, Pelikan offers a range of pens across a wide range of market segments. It's nice to see a company that makes four-figure pens also offer a solid, quality pen in the value segment - a great way to gateway new customers to the brand. FWIW, I consider four stars to be the five stars of this segment.

I wish I had ordered both colors. I love the simplicity and quality! I am sure to get the black one next drop. The ink cartridges though are only half full but they were probably just sample quantity.

I purchased this pen during the last drop, and it was basically dead on arrival. Would only write with the feed facing upward, and even then it was spotty. Would not write at all in the proper nib-up rotation. No amount of nib flossing or tuning could get it to write properly even after multiple cleanings. This was my first Pelikan and has pretty much soured me on the brand as a whole.

So, just to avoid any confusion. I'm bitter about the incident not because M200 is a bad pen, from the reviews on the internet it seems a great writing instrument. My problem is with Pelikan's treatment of the incident. I expected at least an answer. Sure they could've declined service or replacement based on the fact it is a massdrop. That would've been fine, given that Massdrop did handle the situation and did send me a replacement. It's a normal practice to not deal with a client directly when the situation is covered by a reseller. But Pelikan didn't know it was a massdrop, they didn't ask anything, their system didn't even send an automated reply. Based on the above I do not trust the company and choose to vote with my wallet as there are no other mechanisms available.

AlexCzarI totally get that. I have the same problem with LAMY 2000, bought through the right channels and lecensed retailer and have no response from them. Pelikan and Faber Castell in Europe have helped me quickly and reliably on a few occasions so... This hobby seems to be one big lottery sometimes. Cheers for sharing your experience and I hope your future will bring you many good pens from now on.

Disappointing! Little feedback from the nib - pleasant enough appearance but if writing means more than just that then look elsewhere. By the way - I modified the underside of my pen's nib by fine-sanding it smooth on fine Micromesh (8000 grit), removing almost all the tipping material. Had to keep testing during the process until a good nib response happened, now an italic writer with great drag. Big improvement, but not for the faint-hearted though!

Oh well, now I can give a couple of pelikans away...too small and just not what I expected.

Very well made inexpensive pen. I ground the nib to a stub/italic and smoothed it. It writes very well.

Stylish
This Pelikan pen is distinctive compared to most Pelikans. The pen has an elegant look and feel, writes well and cleans easily. At the price point, I can carry it without worry.
