I understand. All I was saying was that you can get the same exact packaging with the leads and eraser refills for $3 higher and have it now and not have to wait for a month or more. This is exactly what I did and I use it now for more than 2 weeks.
These are great pencils. Used them through 4 years of architecture school (much to my professors chagrin I opted not to use a lead holder. Build quality is excellent, and lots of little professional features you'll learn to love and appreciate (collapsing tip, lead ID, etc.)
One thing I will say is that you should really only use the eraser in emergencies. I know some people buy huge packs of them but honestly having a discrete eraser and eraser guide is more cost efficient and ultimately a better solution if you do any amount of writing/drawing with these things.
raidAgreed. I have always carried either a Staedler Mars or a Pentel Hi-Polymer eraser with me. These will erase nicely without tearing the paper or leaving the pink smudges. I have typically only used the internal erasers for emergencies and to hold the clearing tool.
Back in 197x, my Jr. College calculus instructor ORDERED us to get a Pentel if we wanted to be serious about engineering. I got a black P205 (I think the model was P205, the labeling has long since worn) During my first programming job a few years later, I discovered the floating sleeve. I retrofit a retractable sleeve from another Pentel onto my "Magic Coding Pencil" and have been using the same pencil since. This one pencil has served me all through University (3 times), and my entire work career.
I love my pencil and have even given it a name. OOPS, did I admit that out loud????
Do the pencils come with additional lead replacement / eraser as they seemingly did in previous drops or is this drop for the pencils only? Forgive me if I may have missed this in the description, and I thank you, in advance, for your reply.
FreedRickKneeChiHi @FreedRickKneeChi,
This time around, the drop does not include the extra lead and eraser refills. We are working with Pentel to try and recreate those packs for a future drop though. Sorry about that!
I've had the 0.9mm for like 4 years now, it still works perfect and the led lasts forever. This drop isn't that really good of a deal though, especially if you don't like one of the led sizes (3mm breaks too easily imo)
blubluThe 0.5mm ones on Amazon for ~$10 doesn't appear to come with refill erasers and refill lead which is worth about $5 per pencil. The comperable pencils that come with the refills on amazon are going for around $17
