Continue running, hiking, or backpacking even when it turns dark with the Petzl Actik and Actik Core headlamps. Both feature a mixed beam with red lighting, which preserves night vision and keeps you from blinding others Read More
Dear Massdrop: Please update the description so it states clearly whether the Actik Core you are selling comes with the Core rechargeable battery or not. This would save a lot of confusion, and couldn't hurt sales.
The Petzl website only shows models of the Actik Core that come with the core battery (also compatible with AAA), https://www.petzl.com/US/en/Sport/ACTIVE-headlamps/ACTIK-CORE
However the description says 3 AAA batteries, which is the case?
Edit: fixed typo saying AA instead of AAA (thanks Ni-Knight)
Looking for a decent headlamp with a red light. Can you switch the red lamp on these independently (i.e. without cycling through the white light modes)?
There are contexts (like astronomy "star parties") where shining a white light even for a moment may be enough to get you shouted at, or even kicked out...
Thanks for the info -- I guess I'll have to pass on this one, then. Need something with a separate control or some kind of deterministic user input so I can know for sure that only the red light will illuminate, without having to remember the setting previously used.
manualdidactI have one, bought the Actik, Core, and Noctilight, luv it but you just hold it to go to red, click from red goes red strobe and seems to have memory.
Just got confirmation form massdrop that the Actik Core does not come with the lithium battery - sad news as that was what I wanted - already have the Actik and love it but wanted the core battery. So I am cancelling my orders. Bummer ;(
