I will second all the comments about how great this little thing can be but will add 1 caveat: There are a number of complaints on Amazon, and I have now personally experienced it myself - that build quality is poor, and my unit which was a Christmas gift in 2018 has stopped charging as of last week at just a tick over 6mos old.
I submitted a ticket through the Radsone website nearly a full week ago and have not received a reply. I'm emailing the direct support email today and will advise how this claim goes.
njgphotographyThanks for keeping us posted. Were you using the battery care setting through the app for those 6 months? Have had mine for just a few months, so hoping I don't run into this issue. I've accidentally cracked the case open a few times while using the device and it looked like it'd be pretty easy to replace the battery if you needed to.
Like you said, build quality is quite meh, but I feel like it makes up for itself with all the other positives.
beardieboiI don't recall offhand if I have the battery care on or off, but honestly at 6 mos in, it shouldn't matter. Modern LIon and LiPo batteries should be able to take a full charge, sit for a couple weeks and still work the next time you need to charge it. This seems more of a hardware problem though as the unit doesn't wake on being plugged in, as it previously had, and isn't recognized by my PC when connected.
njgphotographyI see. Yea, the little thing doesn't feel like it can take much of a beating.
Hope that you can get it taken care of. I know I'd be lost without mine.
njgphotographyI have had the same issue and other weird noises coming out of the device upon powering on on my first unit (bought end of October 2018) after about 5 months, but unlike you my claim has been answered by Radsone and they gave me an Amazon code to get a new one free of charge. So in less than a week I had my new unit shipped home. I must say I was very pleased with their customer service. So far I've had the new device for 2 months and it works perfectly.
njgphotographyI should submit.. my unit was defective within two months. I was using it 10+ hours a day, and I suspect the battery / power management is a weak point in this unit.
Oh, and the 'AMP', which is separate :-)
Radsone_EmilyMy original submission was 6/5; after 5 days of waiting I finally got a response. Due to the time difference between Asia and the Eastern US all communications lag by a day. Back and forth a couple times the nameless rep who responds finally provided a code for replacement on 6/19, a full 2 weeks later. Oops! They never asked where I was and provided a code for Canada's Amazon.ca, which won't allow me to ship the product to the US, and the code isn't valid for Amazon.com.
6/20 I reply and say as above, radio silence. Again on 6/24, no answer. And again today, 3 weeks after my initial contact.
At this point nearly 7 mos. later, my MIL's Christmas gift is unusable, I have no replacement, the service is terrible and the only silver lining is that it's not *my* money that was put out for the product. I really want to love it, it really is great, but I've seen too many of these stories of them going kaput and if it's this hard to get service I can't justify spending money with this company.
