Once again another item that can be purchased cheaper and shipped right away from Amazon.

I don't think that anyone minds when someone points out that a better deal is available, but, it becomes tedious when drop after drop has someone complaining about it. If it's not the best deal for you, it might be for someone else. This bitching when a drop isn't the cheapest in the universe, for absolutely everyone, is getting old.
PS. It's a bit weird laying some national claim to the web... given that it was created by an english dude working in France, for an EU organisation based in Switzerland (CERN). I'm fairly sure massdrop, if asked, would consider themselves a global entity based in the USA; creating an online business to service one country is... well.. ridiculous; unless you are providing a location specific service. Perhaps tone down the jingoism, it's a bit yucky.

consolationIt seems like the original post was just stating "I can get this cheaper and quicker from Amazon." That post poses no harm to anyone whether or not they can get the same deal, based on geographic location.
I'd much rather have people like the OP put massdrop on blast for not offering a "deal" than have the site overrun with everyday products at everyday prices. Keeps them on their toes by letting them know people are price checking them instead of just blinding hitting BUY.
Honestly, for every person I've seen saying "this isn't a deal for US customers because of Amazon Prime" I must have seen 10 posts on drops saying "This isn't a deal half way around the world because of the international shipping costs!"... Sure that gets annoying sometimes but I don't post on those comments refuting their claim or telling them to think about others instead of themselves, because again I think that massdrop needs to know and potentially address their concerns accordingly.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it odd that there is nothing in any one the 16 pictures that can be used for a size reference?

14themoneyI'm glad I checked the discussions. I thought it was a great price, but was picturing a bigger bag. Thanks for posting.

SomeOne2Have the harbor freight bag. Construction is a bit iffy but decent enough for the price. Good enough for keeping a few emergency tools in the trunk. Not sure how durable it would be for daily use.

I do understand. I went to Amazon's website and, using Amazon's search bar on their website, searched for the words: Rothco mechanics tool bag.
First (top) result is it.

Hate to be a party pooper. But this bag is cheaper on eBay if you include shipping cost. There's also no wait, you can literally buy it and it'll be shipped out instead of waiting another 5 days for this offer to end.

Very curious what was meant by “carry strap”, I had assumed it meant a shoulder strap but nothing of the sort was included in the package I received today. Kind of a bummer.
Update: I never got a strap. Was told by Massdrop that they ran out, and they offered either a return/refund or a $5 credit. Still have no idea what this strap is supposed to look like.

meh...average product at best, probably fine for lightweight stuff but i bought two of these at the local surplus store to use as tool bags for my 4x4's, both ripped after about 6 months of trail use, they are made from cotton, not canvas just as an fyi.
that said, you get what you pay for and if you want a light duty bag for odds and ends and this will be fine, but if you plan on keeping this for a long time and carrying heavier items i would consider dropping a few extra bucks and looking elsewhere.

TheIzzardKingtbh 6 months for a cotton bag used for 4x4's is a pretty good track record. You wouldn't use a meat cleaver to cut tomatoes. Should get a canvas bag for your 4x4 trips, if only to avoid soaking a cotton one with water (which I assume you see a lot of, if 4x4 videos on youtube are accurate). I think this is more like a workshop toolbag, I'm thinking Chop Shop with junkers in the yard that need about 10 tools to disassemble the interior. Would probably be great for a job like that.

NB this bag is smaller than you think it is. Even if you think it's small.
