I wished they didn't come with threaded connectors, they look weird when I connect them to other cables. I really like the way they sound though, I didn't listen to them much but they do sound like a flatter Shuoer Tapes, I do love the Tapes a lot but these sound less fatiguing.
I've had quite a few senfer products in the past. It's a bit of hit and miss. DT8 and Dt6 sound alright. PT15 and PT25 are Bass light, DT2 wasn't anything impressive, and KP series have serious built issue.
I'm a bit reluctant to step out of budget zone for senfer. Apart from DT8, the built of their products are sub-par. I've experienced multiple loose mmcx connectors right out of box, and I don't understand why a company still utilize cheap grossy paints, and chrome plated plastics for their parts.
I have every right to believe senfer can make decent sound for their flagships. But the aesthetics impression(I think there's too much going on for faceplates) and the lingering QC concern are pushing me away from this purchase. Things may change, it'll probably take a bit more positive feedbacks to do so! Really wanted to loved senfer. Yes they started out as a knockoff DIY buds maker, at least they tend to be more creative than competitions nowadays!
I will never buy a senfer again. Unless their QC improved the 3in1 or whatever it was called lasted about 2 weeks before i pulled half of it out of my ear and the other half i had to scoop out.
SchmittABI asked the same question to myself a while back, but I think when they're the size of IEMs they require less power. Don't take my word for it, Shure has electrostat IEMs that require an energizer of their own.
