Ever find that heavier keycaps slow down the action of the keys? I like the idea of something thick and durable, but wondered if there's a speed tradeoff. (I only type, no games.)
The difference is negligible. Heavier keys with lots of plastic like SA profile keys will make switches feel slightly lighter, especially with the larger modifier keys, but again that is pretty negligible.
I have two Novatouch keyboards, one with thick Ducky BPT keys, one with thinner and lighter ABS Carbon Black keys.
I find the BPT keys to feel somewhat slow on the rebound, and the overall typing experience to feel a tad too slow. The lighter ABS keys, however, feel just right to me on this keyboard.
So key weight can make a feelable diffence.
The Novatouch uses 45g Topre switches, which are a high quality rubber dome membrane keys that also have a spring in each switch.
I don't know if the effect is as great on Cherry type switches. But I'd imagine that anytime you have a weight sitting on top of a spring, a change in the weight will affect the feel and timing of the key action as it accelerates down and rebounds back up.
The question is whether that difference is big enough to be noticeable, and if it is, which one is preferable over the other.
In the case of the Novatouch, the difference in weight is noticeable. I find I prefer the lighter keys in this case.

K.T.NAnd yet you've ordered these, which sound even heavier than the Duckies. Is that for a keyboard with stiffer switches?
