Mine just showed up... remote doesn't work at all. Device works fine though.
Or maybe it's the receiver on the device. I don't know. But audio works, remote doesn't.
I bought it for the remote. Otherwise, could have gone Modi 3.
SqueeI assume you figured this out by now. But for others whose remote does not work. Their are 3 silly buttons labeled "A" "B" "C" on the remote. You must hit "C" the first time to make the remote work (the others change the codes to control other unnamed devices). If at some point you hit A or B by mistake...you must hit C again to make it work.
Epic_Taco_DudeAmir at A.S.R. just posted his review. It works great on SPDIF, and also on USB but ONLY if you provide additional power through the 2nd USB power jack. So.. hook up both with a decent 5v USB adapter.
if I was on the market for DAC I'd try it. Specs are suspiciously close to Schiit Modi3, which measured excellently. Price is lower by 25+10=35. But, do u want to be a beta tester? Where are the measurements? The big don't for me is lack of mechanical input selector. Cheap remotes tend to die fast. Am I wrong? Is there a way to choose input w/o remote?
rdodevSame. I'm still thinking of the SU-8 but I also ordered the balanced SDAC so that's just me being impatient. However at this pricepoint, this unit could very well fill that gap cheaply for an unbalanced DAC.
