Not sure if these actually work but fair warning, if you are not a locksmith it's actually an arrestable offense to be caught in possession of lock picking tools in the U.S.

EARiderYou can only be charged with a crime, if they can prove you committed, or tried to commit, a crime. Criminal tools is a secondary charge that gets added after they catch you using them. At worst they will be confiscated.

Yeah people want a challenge to overcome... to get my TV. I'm not acting like a know it all, I just don't see any legal use for a lock pick. I'd like to see you insult me face to face, Yankee troll!!! Now stop,OK?

TexasSlimEver lock yourself out of your own house? Ever have a friend do the same? Lockpicks do what locksmiths do. Why not restrict them only to locksmiths?
Lots of people don't see a use for loaded handguns. But there are scenarios in which they are useful and law-abiding citizens can use them. Sometimes, even licensed owners do bad things with them. Law enforcement sometimes kills innocents. Even soldiers make mistakes. Even so, we still decide it's worth putting them in the hands of citizens, in many states without background checks or other licensing.
When a lockpick does its thing, a door is opened. When a gun does its thing, something gets injured or dies. I think if we're OK with unlicensed death machines, you can hop off your horse and let people play with lockpicks.

mumrikFYI criminals very rarely use lock picking nowadays, there are a lot of other much easier ways of breaking-in. Lockpicking requires training, patience and knowledge that most of simple criminals lacking. The criminal professionals will rather use a bumping key, manual or electric bump guns or other means as a much faster way of entry. These cheap lockpicking tools are mostly for hobbyists and people who lost their keys or locked themselves out of their homes.

Are the black sleeves not supposed to be already on the pick set? It's impossible for me to even slide 1 of them on.

Did the same with beer bottle cap. (Poke a hole with a knife.) Worked really well.
Thanks for the idea.

wrong: every single pick I received with handles were just normal pieces of metal, I assume they are uncut/unfinished picks...
EDIT: pull off the black grips and it reveals the actual picks.... shove the grips back on the blank side

The one thing I don't like about this drop is the case. They charge a little extra for stainless steel handles, which I paid, but the zippered case is for the set with the rubber handles. The case for the ones with stainless steel handles is a snap top case that doesn't do a good job of keeping all the picks inside when it's closed...

silverthornneI'm with you @silverthornne. I didn't like the case either.
I opted to buy one of these: http://countycomm.com/pickpocket.html
If you haven't been to CountyComm before, be careful. That site has a habit of making all of your extra cash disappear.
