Good things come in all sizes, especially when it comes to audio equipment. Sure, that speaker stack sounds great, but there are far smaller units that can hang with the tallest monuments to high fidelity Read More
anyone know the name of the cable used to connect the two together? one of my speakers gets crackly sounds for certain frequencies so I think the cable might have frayed a bit.
" I cannot recommend the Swan D1010-IV speakers enough ... for the best deal on the desktop, or audiophiles on a tight budget. ."

Sorry for the confusion, everyone! The only available option in this drop was the D1010 MK IV. The D1080 was leftover in from a previous drop where it was an option.
Really hope the audioengine d1 or hivi m200mkiii speakers go on sale. This is the setup I'm looking for for my computer. Still thinking about getting this for my TV.
Malone1011More like a side grade, they sound more like the M10's but without the subwoofer. Crystal clear mids and highs with more bass than the M10's. The Promedia's subwoofer is no slouch when you want bass you get bass. You'll lose the Klipsch bass but gain better mids and highs if that's what you're looking for.
If you're looking for an upgrade you might as well jump on the Yamaha HS8 Studio Monitor drop for $259.99 for each monitor.

Otherwise, if you want more clarity you can just simply replace the satellites in the Promedia with Tang Band W3-881SJ 3" Cast Frame Neodymium Driver. And if you want even more bass you could replace the subwoofer with Tang Band W6-1139SI 6-1/2" Subwoofer it would technically work but the box is not tuned for this subwoofer's frequency so you wouldn't get 100% full use of it. Replacing the Promedia's satellite drivers are the best thing you can do to the Promedia 2.1 set as the clarity is much better with the Tang Band drivers than the stock Promedia 2.1 drivers.
I want to get in on the HiVi D1010 Mk IV's but in the description there was a tease for "HiVi D1080 (+ $35)"??? Where is the option to purchase this model/upgrade. I assume you can get them for an additional $35.00?
Douger711I am trying to join the drop and have the same problem. What is unusual is that the URL also has 'd1080' in it. I would prefer the option for the 1080s.
