They do sound solid, but really need a good amp to help give these some juice. They were decently comfortable too. All in all, for the price I think they were not all that bad, but there are better options at this price point.
So, I usually stay away from gushing about products as there are always enough people screaming their praises from rooftops, but here I feel I need to warn potential buyers of my experience. The fit and finish on these is rather nice. I like the multi-coloured "mother-of-pearl" design on the head shell. Sound is strangely subdued. I do not recommend this IEM if you are using a cellphone or a low powered DAP, it needs gobs of power. I had to really try a whole gamut of tips to get the sound to focus. It may be too ethereal sounding for most listeners. If you ONLY listen to new age music then you are in luck! This review would have been 3.5 stars if not for the shoddy build quality.
As of now, the right channel MMCX connector is cutting in and out. I hope it is just the cable. Otherwise, I am on my own. Massdrop has decreed that "(a)fter reviewing your transaction, it appears that the time-frame for reporting an issue has passed, which means we are not able to provide a replacement or facilitate a return." I I do not have another MMCX cable on me, but I have ordered a cheap MMCX cable to check to see if this is the issue. Apparently, these only have a 30 day return policy if the item does not work as it should, there is no 1 year warranty so you should be aware of this when purchasing.
As soon the IEM arrived i started to plsy music, but there was à noise on the left channel due to wrong contact between the MMCX Jack and the left connector. I tried to change the cable but was not possible due to à defect of left connector.
Only good thing about these is they look nice. Cable is really short. MMCX connection on the right ear piece keeps disconnecting. Sound is meh at best. Your better off with other IEMs in this price range. The treble isn't defined so the instruments sound jumbled together. Mids are alright. Not alot of base. I attached these to my Chord Hugo 2 along with my Ether CX to see what the sound be. And it wasn't anywhere close. I have several other pairs of IEMs and these I would put at the bottom. Even my Power beats are better than these. Maybe I have a bad pair.
