Tripowin is known for making top-notch IEM cables that sound good and won’t wear out. The Altea IEM cable is a culmination of sorts for this reputation Read More
I ordered this with the 3.5mm unbalanced termination and received a 4.4mm balanced termination instead. I don't have an adapter to be able to use this cable yet, but it's physical appearance is definitely pleasing to the eye. The thickness of the braid is similar to my Linsoul Nymph IEM cable, but the Altea's braids aren't as tightly woven as the Nymph's are. The Altea is quite a bit lighter than the Nymph as well, which is nice. I don't know too many individuals that enjoy having a bunch of weight hanging on their ears. Can't tell you whether it's a good buy until I get an adapter, but I wanted to share my observations so far.
Needed an upgrade for my moondrop starfields and these look great! The cable is pretty close color wise to the original, but noticeably thicker. Yes they are heavier, but I wear them at the desk or in bed so no big deal. Only complaint I have is the silver accents on the plugs and collar slide.
I've been on a bit of a cable buying binge from pre 11.11 to Cyber Monday. These were the first to come in about 6 weeks ago. I didn't put them into use right away but now that I have, I have to say that these are fantastic! They're a very good looking cable that handles & behaves extremely well. I find absolutely no fault in its sonic performance. As of now, it's my stock recommendation for an upgrade cable for those who are not happy with their stock cable. It's fairly priced & performs well beyond that IMHO. As long as the blue color isn't off-putting to you, go for it! If you're really on a tight budget, go for a TRN T1.
Highly recommended!
I like the blue, and the length. My ears don't pick up any SQ improvements, but that doesn't mean there is isn't any. I just wish the braid was a bit tighter.
