Will the "removable aluminum alloy guardrail" fit my Moka Pot? And if so, how loud do I have to listen to get the water to boil for an espresso vs a latte?

Yeah, makes you wonder when you get a DOA. The worst part is not really knowing if it was damaged when they removed it from the test rig, damaged somehow during transit, or damaged during mechanical insertion process. Hopefully Tube Depot is easy to deal with. I know they've been pretty awesome for all my orders, but I've never had a DOA from them. Their warranty and returns policy is generally good though, so hopefully things work out. As you're in Canada, you might also want to check out The Tube Store. Their prices are similar and the shipping may be cheaper. Might not be so useful right now with a DOA tube and dealing with an American vendor for the return, but for future purchases it might be easier.

FayneI'll definitely check out The Tube Store for my next order as I am sure this will not be my last Tubes that I buy... this amp might be my first actual entry into Tubes asides from the dinky Nobsound Pre-Amp and Tube Amp combo from amazon (actually not bad BTW, and surprisingly super powerful - just SUPER susceptible to interference sounds) but will definitely not be the last one I get. To be honest, I'm just super glad that its just a dead tube and not a problem with the Amp itself. If the socket savers get here first ill try them to see if they can help at all with the protect mode, but worst case I'll probably just have to cover shipping back to them to replace. I actually don't mind the sound at all with the stock tubes so far... so I am super excited to hear it with upgraded ones. Really appreciate your comments and responses <3<3

Re-posting. I got JJ Electronic tubes made in Slovakia. HUGE difference compared to the stock Chinese tubes. You so have to roll tubes with this amp. Love it now. Zeos says that Fostex TH900 and 909 are hard to pair with an amp. So true. My TH900 sounds great on this amp with the new tubes. Finally. I don't even use my Fostex on the THX AAA amp, only on the TA-20. Order the TA-20 and order a new pair of tubes while you're at it and swap out those cheap stock tubes immediately. /Will I own the TA-20. Purchased on Amazon in Europe and was my bridge between my old-n-busted DAC/amp to my new THX AAA 789 amp. The THX AAA 789 blows this amp out of the water with one caveat - I haven't tube rolled yet. So "blows out" means only with the stock tubes. I judge this amp as not being suitable for planars based on my own experience with Audeze LCD-X and MrSpeakers Ether CX. As you will note, one easy to drive and one hard to drive. For dynamic headphones, with the right tubes, I might change my initial judgement. I do not regret my purchase as I really wanted to try a balanced tube amp (reason for not getting the popular Darkvoice) and again I have to say I need to get some new tubes and try again. My dynamic headphones: Moded Fostex TH900, Sony MDR-Z1R, Sennheiser HD650/800/800S, Philips Fidelio X2HR. DAC: Topping D70. Source: Streaming via USB.

I finally got around to doing just this and I must say that this combination is now my preferred listening mode for all my headphones, dynamic and planar magnetic. I'm still only using a pair of JJ Electronics tubes which, I would surmise, are probably not the quietest but this is of course only something one notices there's no music playing. I will eventually get some better tubes but as it stands this turned out to be a really great combo.

Wtf are you saying? It would have been a 32 seconds long process for I to make that tube in line. Important: you've got to get matched tubes with golden pins at eBay. The gain are determined by the space between the two "plates" in the tube. Looks like all normal audiophile members only have cash today. It's scientifically significant to observe that not a single man on this planet have both brain and money in the bank to purchase the product I love. Exchange tubes! Buy 10-20 pairs of NOS tubes + a pair of balanced super-tubes. Wonder how it would sound with a super XLR between my Magic plus and this genuine product? Would've bet that the 4pin output from this beauty, class A etc etc... will yield absolutely astonishing quality sound in the Senheiser HD 650 terminated with the cheap upgrade phones cables By American Nordost's best opportunity: Heimdall 2 (inspired from Norwegian mythology - just as Schiits products). I'm living 1900meters from where the best of the best are made by proud Norwegian nerds with super-knowhow about electronic. If you are able to make a product that suits the Norwegian (+Albanian;-)) power system, then you're going to make it! ELECTROCOMPANIET (Q.JONES + THE KINGS CHOICE ON BAD) ARE ONE OF THE BEST BRANDS. HEGEL FROM OSLO KNOWA SOMETHING 'BOUT BASS CONTROL. XDUOO V20 = THE MISSING LINK TO WARM UP THE sound pictures.

Do not purchase an Xduoo TA-20 amplifier through Drop. Drop doesn't include a manufacturers warranty with the Xduoo TA-20. My wife purchased one for my birthday and it was opened 4 days past the 30day return point. The Amplifier is faulty right out the box. The left channel is bad. Its not the tubes or headphones. I swapped the tubes and tried different headphones, both balanced and unbalanced but the hiss and clicking when turning the volume up or down persists on the left channel only. The right channel sounds fine. Here is what Drop emailed us. My wife's name is Jeri, "Brett R (Drop Community Support) Dec 22, 2020, 8:37 AM PST Hi again Jeri, That is correct, this item does not come with a manufacturer's warranty. Items that come with more than the typical 30 day guarantee by Drop will state that they have an extended warranty on the product page. At Drop, we purchase our inventory through authorized dealers. As we then pass along this inventory to our members, we are a third party retailer. As the amp was not purchased directly from the manufacturer, any warranty provided may not be honored, as the purchase was made via a third party. As we are the direct buyer, the warranty is not transferable to the member unless otherwise stated on the run page. Due to prior agreements and contracts with our vendors, we are unable to provide their contact information either. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions or concerns. Best Regards, Brett   For a complete list of our policies and FAQ, please visit the Help Center!"

My point is. Drop sells items cheaper but don't stand behind the sales, they don't warranty the items and the item's they sell don't come with a manufacturer warranty. I WONT be purchasing anything else from Drop. Neither will my wife, or my son, my parents, brother or sisters, friends or anyone else I can ge to listen.

MostlyAlIs the new one up to specs? I like the amp and for now I will use it only with my 660s, did you had the chance to try it with higher empedence headphones? If yes how was it driving them?

Looks like this latest batch came with the wrong power cord. Hope everyone has a handy IEC-320-C13 handy, because this power cord is totally meant for places that aren't the US.

For the TA-20, just snag yourself a pair of cheap JJ ecc802s/12au7 from some place like https://www.tubedepot.com/products/jj-ecc802s-hi-performance-12au7-preamp-vacuum-tube they might not be as good as NOS, it they’re cheap and good sounding.

Has anyone here owned both the TA-20 and the Loxjie P20? I bought the P20 on Black Friday for $60, and at that price I think it sounds quite good. But I’m curious how much better-sounding the TA-20 might be. Big difference?

is the TA-20 worth 3x the cost of the P20 though?

hks128If all you're driving is the HD 6xx, likely not. If you've got planar cans or dynamic cans with an impedance of < 45Ω, it is absolutely worth the price. Not only does it handle the lower Ω without frequency shifting, it is able to push significantly more power. Of course, as I type this I'm using the P20 and HD 58x. :)

How does this compare to the Dark Voice? I have a pair of HD 6xx and listen to a lot of fast paced heavy rock and metal

JimenezOmarDark voice is OTL (output transformer-less), a full tube amp and single-ended. This means it requires high-impedance headphones with a non-balanced connection to sound nice. The TA-20 is a fully balanced hybrid tube amp with a tube and a transistor stage. It requires a balanced connection for best results and can drive almost any pair of headphones. If I had to guess I'd say the dark voice has more tube character, but the TA-20 is just more hi-fi, with perfect stereo separation due to separate balanced paths and no noise at all even at the maximum (very loud) level. On the ta-20 the left and right signals go through separate tubes, while on the dark voice you will get some crosstalk due to just one power tube and just one driver tube.

RVDIIIAhhh yes, really showing off your maturity here as well. Edit: Nowhere did I state it was supported by Drop. All of my comments on warranty have been pretty specific about getting support direct from xDuoo. But hey, I guess your inability to read shouldn't surprise me.
