On sale this device is a good option to consider
But beware:
Drivers are a bitch to get running on windows 10 but forums can help you with that
No balanced output (not for everyone)
Very flimsy construction. I assume this is were they cut costs.
Sounds great for me, but what I noticed (which took me a couple days to realize the origins) is a clicking noise. Not sure what it is, might be a defective product, but it definitely makes a clicking to the point where I have to make sure I turn it off at night.
Could be the automatic fuse to disengage charging, but if so it's a humorously loud one for a product meant to be used for audio.
EDIT: I've determined what the clicking is; it's (seemingly) a power saving function. Every time audio is not played for a certain duration of time, it clicks, and once audio is played again, it clicks once more. Less an issue now.
NEW EDIT:
After about a month, the battery seemed to have a failure and it now will glitch and reboot-loop and fail to fully charge. It's an issue that can make it annoying, especially when charging it can cause a hum if the wire is placed at a minutely wrong angle. It still works, and works nicely, but this is compounded with a bad handling of low volumes (right ear becomes louder than left).
While the sound isn't mindblowingly amazing, it does sound pretty good. Worked with Windows 10 right out of the box. The aux input didn't seem to make any difference (besides loudness) from plugging directly into my iPhone SE Gen 1.
Great little travel Amp/DAC for those hard to push HD6xx. Sounds great and delivers a full vibrant lows, which is tough to get out of those cans without the extra punch from an amp.
First one did not work out of the box. Tried to get service and the manufacturers would not provide service. MD replaced it and the second one I really enjoyed..... while it lasted. Quit working after using it about 10 times mostly when traveling. Now it won’t charge at all. Trying to get it serviced is not worth the effort. Bottom line for me JUNK!!
Not bad, swap out the opamp and it is a different beast
Super powerful headphone amp but rather bulky, I swapped our the opamp for a Burson audio one that I picked up and it made a significant improvement, I’d say it was a vital change, taking this from a decent amp/dac to a very good one!
I’m not an engineer by any means but not terrible with my hands either, there are videos online so you just need to buy the correct torx driver and follow the video carefully! I found it easy.
