Yulong has a reputation for producing highly regarded all-in-one units, like the DA9 and the DA8. Now, the company aims to deliver the highest sound quality from a more compact all-in-one package. Introducing the Aquila: a balanced DAC/amp with all the inputs and outputs you could ask for, including USB, S/PDIF, and Toslink, plus RCA and outputs for dual-3pin XLR for driving studio monitors. The front panel has a standard 3.5-millimeter jack and a 4-pin XLR jack for driving balanced headphones. Using the balanced out, you’ll get significantly more power: 1.5 watts at 32 ohms, for example. The Aquila also offers a few unique sound modes. Mode 1 is balanced, mode 2 is great for classical music, and mode 3 emphasizes a strong voice presence, ideal for jazz vocals.
