Product Description
You've optimized your audio set-up with some proper speakers and an advanced DAC, but you're still missing one crucial component: regulated power. As the electricity flowing to your device can be uneven, you need a power conditioner to provide surge protection and even out the supply for marked sonic improvement Read More

Still waiting to see a Yulong A28 drop, to go with my DA8. The A28 is not that new anymore; it must be time to try a drop, surely?
Once I have my DAC and balanced amp covered, THEN I'll look at power conditioning...

Argh! I just bought this directly from Yulong last week at $329.

Why would anyone buy this? It's a few inductors movs and capacitors thrown into a box that will do absolutely nothing for you.

Mate you can get surge protectors from the supermarket for like $10.

Huggy_BearEver heard of the phrase "you get what you pay for"? Those $10 surge protectors don't protect a thing. Open one up, if you don't believe me, they are glorified power strips, nothing more.

I'd be a lot more interested in this if it'd drop alongside Yulong's new A28 balanced stereo amp. I made a poll for that amp ages ago now, but something is wrong with it and it doesn't show up when searching or browsing polls, so it's getting votes VERY slowly (it's only accessible by direct link for some weird reason).

A28 + P18 + Decent Yulong DAC would make for a very nice headphone component mini-stack, that'd drive anything with authority and clarity.

Why can't I find the poll by putting text from it into the search box, though?
And it sounds like you're saying your "poll algorithm" is actually selectively _hiding_ most polls?

AnonymouseReally? I found your poll through the search box. I searched Yulong, and it was the fourth one down "Fully-balanced headphone amplifiers."
Our poll algorithm doesn't hide polls, it randomly chooses a bunch of polls to put in front of users based on a number of factors. It makes sure polls that have the most user interest have the highest visibility. It's similar to how Facebook/Tumblr decide what to put on your newsfeed/dashboard.

Having messed around with home brew power conditioning solutions, as well as having done my research on this one, I feel that it's a good deal. Also, 6000 watts is a good chunk of power throughput. If you have line noise and already spent serious money on your equipment, this just makes sense. Or if you're mobile and don't want to run off a big battery, who knows what the line noise of the venue will be. On top of that, a little extra protection. Makes sense to me.

Many of the cheaper Furman power conditioners are just glorified power strips.
This thread is an interesting read for anyone interested: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much-gear-so-little-time/445196-furman-power-conditioners-vs-power-regulators.html

Glad to see this back up. I bought one last go round, and it's working very well. Audibly reduced the background noise in my system, which has to contend with a suboptimal power situation. There may be other ways to address this problem, but this one is solid-feeling, reasonably-priced, and inspires confidence. Recommended.
