Esteemed brand Audio-Technica’s has engineered a pair of headphones with exceptional sound quality—and the proof is in the components. Featuring a closed-back design and comfortable over-ear fit, the ATH-AP2000Ti is chock-full of proprietary technology with impressive performance Read More
I've had a pair of these for a few months now and they're one of my favorite headphones. They're very detailed with really good clarity and I know some people think they're to bright but I think they have really good treble and I haven't had any sibilance issues at all. If you're looking for a great closed-back headphone these are a great option.
Yeah, these cans are dang sexy. Though, if I was in the market for them, I'd have a hard time deciding between them and the ATH-AWAS. I mean, whats an extra $150 when you're talking cans > $1000. That Japanese cherry wood. <3
Yeah I have playlists that lack vocals because I work best without the lyric distraction. I setup my WFH desk in my main listening area to take advantage of the "big system". New vinyl records/SACD first listens do get play during work hours but often as part of my lunch break. AWS current outage impacting you at all? ... it's made for a rather craptastic day on this end.
Before the inane comments about price hit the discussion:
Yes this is full list price
No it's not a problem
No Drop isn't screwing people
AD is super hardcore about MAP on their top of the line products, violating MAP can/will get you blacklisted.
If you aren't familiar with MAP and distribution agreement limitations feel free to ask.
Elex sounds goddamn muffled and wooly compared to these though. And not even any wider despite being open backs.
Obviously at the 500$ though, the Elex is phenomenal
dleblancMight add few hundred more than the price of Audio Technicas and might go for Stax electrostatics.
Why isnt drop doing Stax Electrostatics? There might not be a lot of people to take it though, but then fr most , it might be the end game and this might spoil other headphones for the people who have stax.
I might suggest something like say Audiovalve Solaris + Stax earspeakers as a pair, the advantage with Audiovalve Solaris is that its Tube amp and you can also use 6.4 mm headphone on it too.
