There's a lot of competition in the $40 to $50 D2 knives. This one is probably near the top of the pack.
Pros: - D2 blade, near perfectly symmetric grind - Excellent action, flies open, and falls shut without much effort - Reliable detent (better than the my last Bestech from MD) - Can "light switch" or "push button" to open - Contoured G10 makes it very comfortable - Excellent blade length for how small this carries - Open pillar construction always makes me happy - No janky lanyard hole to clutter up the design and construction - Amazing fit and finish (perfect centering, lock-up, and no blade play) - Way more carry-able than other blades this length - I really like the design and aesthetics considering it's a G10+liner-lock config
Cons: - I'm not a fan of ball bearings; would've preferred washers even if the action was a little slower - The tip is pretty extreme, and I see it snapping off if dropped - The blade is a bit on the thick side (with an abrupt grind) to be considered a really good slicer - Requires one of those split/security screwdriver bits to disassemble (easy to get, though) - Pocket clip is nothing great, but it does the job - Odd gimping at the back where your hand doesn't grip (except maybe when pulling from the pocket?), but no gimping where you might want a little more grip
Depending on your needs, you might prefer something like the slightly smaller Steel Will Modus or one of the Tangrams in D2. I would put this knife well ahead of the OKC Carter Prime in terms of a functional cutting tool (but the Carter Prime looks really cool). The OKC Rat 1 in D2 is a close contender. If you prefer the flipper, the Warwolf is only weaker because it's running on bearings. If the Warwolf ran on phospher-bronze washers, I'd take this over a D2 Rat 1 any day.

zac.hesterI'm confused by one comment you made: "Requires one of those split/security screwdriver bits to disassemble"?
Mine has standard T6 and T8 torx bits. Not security torx (with the raised center)

Wow! If I didn't know better, some could have told me this was a new Benchmade model, and I would believe it (assuming logos were altered according, of course...). The fit, finish, balance, razor edge, blade centering, lock-up, and one-handed unlock feel and quality are amazing. Not all liner-lock knives release easily. In my experience, Bestech knives are consistently good at this every time (I own a half-dozen of them)!
Room for improvement: 1) Something this well-crafted should come in a slightly more "expensive-looking" box, consistent with the quality of the knife (e.g., Kizer, Artisan Cutlery, etc.) 2) Would also love to see some other steels offered beyond D2, like VG10, CPM30, etc.
Like the Scimitar, and even more so, the Warwolf is a work of art. Such attention to the lines and contours of the G10 scales is consistent with flowing lines of the harpoon-style blade.
In summary, I love everything about this knife, especially including no visible "Made in China" marking anywhere !

An excellently built knife, very solid feeling. All metal edges are eased and polished, on both the blade and handle (except along the swedge, they always seem to grind that in after beveling edges). Fitment between the liners and G10 is so good on this one it feels like final shaping was done after assembly Action is smooth, drops shut with the slightest shake. Detent is perfect on this one; snappy to open with flipper, can't shake it open.

Internals look good, tight tolerances on everything.
D shaped pivot for keeping that aligned. Again, wish they would've used the metal caged bearings, rather than the plastic molded bearings.
Only real complaints though are 2 things I'd consider design flaws: On the left below, the standoff should be recessed lower in the handle, like the one by the clip. This one is felt running a finger down the spine, it's a bit annoying.

Second, on the right above, the heel of the blade is practically flush with the back of the handle. Not just annoying, downright dangerous. Going to have to alter the blade to keep from getting cut on that.
As impressed as I am without knife overall, that one safety concern is the reason I need to knock off 1 star 😞 If you're willing and able to regrind the heel a bit, then it can be made a 5 star knife IMO.
Oh, and also of note: as another member stated, this knife does NOT come with a pouch. It's delivered in Bestech's small knife box, just a knife in a bag. But after reaching out to MD support they have agreed to issue a partial refund on an amount comparable to what they discount on Spyderco pouches.... But you're gonna have to ask for it.

KavikI noticed the heel of the blade on the spine as well and thought it was a bit dangerous too. Excellent review, and thanks for the info on the pouch, I'll definitely reach out to MD.

Definitely, personally I feel a bit actively turned off by knives with overtly belligerent names.
This one should have been called the 'Ahab', and anyone who thinks otherwise can square off with me in Solaris 7 over it.
Unless they want to do a mariner's knife with a marlin spike and a non-piercing blade profile like a sheepsfoot, in which case now that I think of it 'Ahab' is still the best name for this sleek design with a harpoon blade. I think a marlin spike knife based off the Pebble or Goblin would be sick though.

OmniseedGuessing you don't mean the Sand Pebble, then? Don't know much about these, but I like 'em!

Bestech Warwolf folder knife had it 6 months wore it as EDC for 2 months. Clip bolts became loose due the bad bolt or knife threads. Bolts now will not hold clip tightly and fall out. Will Attempt Warranty replacement. Have emailed Bestech many times. They have not contacted me. THEY ARE NOT ATEMPTING TO HONOR WARANTY.

The only thing that I would change is to make it a LiL thinner in the handles

Excellent build quality, sturdy and reliable operation. Aesthetically very pleasing, the shape of the blade is unique. Didn’t know it was supposed to come with a pouch though.

Great value and satisfying to use.
Excellent knife used it for a year now and pushing the knife open is still really satisfying to me. I really like the ergonomic shape of the handle and it cuts well. Definitely more value than I would have expected for the price.

I decided a while back not to give 5 star ratings to knives under $100. This is a great knife. I have a Swordfish and a Paladin. They are great, too. I believe that the Swordfish's ergos are a tad better. This might be my favorite of the 3. I like the appearance of the Warwolf more than my other two. I lost my first Swordfish and promptly replaced it, I liked it so much. I paid a little less or a little more than $40 for these. I might replace one if the price increase is 10% or less. A bigger increase will cause me to Google like mad. The pricing on most knives around reminds me of the German restaurant owner who went to the zoo and picked up a sea bird. When asked by the keeper what he was doing, he replied, "I taking a tern for the wurst." If you think my jokes are bad, I offer the price increases around here as a comparison.

14themoneyI'm curious why you won't give 5 stars to knives under $100? A great knife is a great knife regardless of the price.
