If you need a knife for hard duty, look no further than the Bestech Hornet. Packing as much sting as its name would imply, the Hornet features a large sheepsfoot blade with a scalloped spine for finger placement Read More
This was tempting. But the Ferrum Forge Buc with titanium handle and S35VN steel seemed like with the sale was definitely worth it. For the regular price, this hornet seems cool, but I wish at around $50 they offered something better than D2 steel. If they had put it on sale and the Buc was not an option, I would have gotten this. The cleaver blade which is referred to as sheep foot it great for chopping and carving, with its rounded shape. And this knife just looks cool.
I have many knives in my collection but nothing even comes close to being as ugly as this one. Don’t mean to offend anyone who has purchased this but... WOW, UUUUGLYYYY! Just sayin’.
If anyone wanted to know what this knife would be like if it were assisted, tip down only and generally worse. Smokey mountain knife works has just the thing.
*UPDATE* This is a POCKET SHREDDERSo, got the knife here in Holland, looks great, handles great etc. Love it. There is one big "but". This things is as worse as some of the infamous Cold Steel knives that are true pocket shredders! Man this thing is coarse! Be prepared your jeans pockets will be shredded to pieces in no time. Guess I'll have to pull a Nutnfancy pocketmod on it... Cheers!
So, checked some local stores (Holland) and found that they have 'm in stock for around 67, so this seems a good Drop. However, when counting in the factors of import fees and tax etc. plus delivery, I think it's not worth it ordering here. I guess if I was US based it was more interesting but in this case it's just not worth the while. Ordering the red on off course. And since I also EDC a Kizer Zugang (original version) I don't see an issue with this knife either.
So, just to clarify, I have been seeing in posts back in December, prior to COVID, that delays from the manufacturer are rather normal. Is this indeed the case? Reason being I placed the order on February 24 and have been informed that the ship date of March 17, obviously, has been delayed. I am just noticing that delays from Bestech are normal, correct?
jfgarnanti have not ordered a lot of knives since the restrictions took effect. Before this, I had order a fair number of Bestech, most of them from here. I had not problems with the promptness of shipping.
Crazy, since the delivery has been delayed with no updates as of yet, I got lucky and wound up getting 2 NIB on ebay, 1 for $30.50 and the 2nd one for $31.50
