I don't criticise this company donating to a cause; good, bad,or indifferent: each cause has merit to part of our community.
I must admit that I have had another thought about many watch brands; and I guess whether political or not this is just a basic observation. This is I presume a watch made in China?
With regards to China ,this new world power and capitalist powerhouse: one thing I can't figure, considering their international arrogance, is:
When we buy a watch I cannot remember seeing "China Made" or "Made in China" ,on the dial. We have "Swiss Made","Swiss Movt", "Made in Japan", and "Japan Movt"! Or is it that they think if not Japan or Switzerland; then it must obviously be China!!!! And yes my adopted country is at present at odds with China over many issues. But politics aside; I just wonder why?
The Made in China product-labelling topic can certainly be discussed at great length, for watches or otherwise ;) and China will continue to be the greatest manufacturing sub-contractor and wholesaler in the world (cheap labour being the single biggest reason) for some time ahead. But there's really no surprise there when it comes to where many (or the majority of) watch parts are manufactured (and sometimes also assembled), regardless of whether it says Made in Germany for example, or whatnot.
So all of the above, I already understand, and it's no surprise to me. My BIGGER beef with watches has to do with brands that actively deceive its customers. Your MVMT, Vincero, Daniel Wellington, and maybe the biggest offender of them all....Filippo Loreti.
I don't know how new or experienced you are with watches and the industry, but these two clips (especially Ben's, who does a fantastic exposé) is some required viewing (and I highly encourage you to sub to both):

J.01I think "Suffragette" was a poor choice in assigning a name to this product. A watch really has no connection to the very real struggle of women's rights. It seems a very "slimy" marketing tool. The up to 20% claim is also misleading. If there was an option to pay a little more separately , that would be more transparent. Unfortunately politics permeates into every part of society. None of us are innocent where this is concerned; but I do understand your dismay.
Not for me. The watch is nondescript. A comparable one can be found at any Walmart for a good bit less cash. The enforced contribution to a cause makes me wonder where that money actually ends up. Going to take a pass on this one.

What in the world does this mean? "Bia donates up to 20% percent of the proceeds..." "Up to"? Sounds weaselly as hell.
