Please do a drop with the V6 opamps. I just bought a Fun with the Classics. Super sale with Canadian dealer! I would also like the Vivids and maybe even the Sparcos.
I have a pair of the Fun amps (got a deal). I bought both with the 5534's. I had 627's and 8610's and wanted to play. Bought the V6 Vivids and didn't look back. Was going to get the V6 Classics, then this good deal popped up (probably will end up with Classics as well). They're tall, so some of the cases of other amps might have to run open.
Sonics? They are delicious. Easy and natural, yet have dynamics and extension. Strings en mass have bloom and don't sound like grating steel. Brass have a leading edge, not a bleeding edge. Tidal Masters are masterful.
My experience with Burson Audio customer service is horrible. I will never buy a Burson Audio product again and as a result of this I can not recommend Burson Audio products.
TumbledryI had the original Soloist. It smoked an inlet cap and half the windings in the transformer. They fixed it no problem. I had questions on the Fun amp and V6 Vivids (I own both) and they got right back to me.
HELP ! Will these V5 Opamps be suitable upgrades and / or replacements,
in the following gear:
NAD 3020 intergrated amplifier
APT HOLMAN "Power Amplifier 1" (100 W rms X 2 @ 8 ohms- entire bandwidth )
LOGITECH - 'Z 2300' Plate Amplifier / Crossover, mounted on
the Woofer of said system … Thank You
I would love to try these on my Asus Strix Raid DLX with it's 3x LME 49720A. The only issue is the height of them, they look like they make the card into a triple slot monster.
Looks like they sell socket extensions so you can 'lay' these down. As well it looks like these might benefit from wrapping them in metallic tape and grounding the shields when used in noisy environments.
Rayndalfthere are 2 version of the v6 - the "vivid" which has a sound profile similar to this v5, and the "classic" which has a slightly different result

if their blurb about the v5 exceeding the v5i has any credibility, then i'm keen to hear the differences
