Creating the Ara IEM, Campfire Audio was determined to remind listeners why earphones can be so much fun. Thanks to a carefully engineered “crossover-less” design and high-performing components, the message comes through loud and clear. Instead of relying on passive electronic circuits to crossover the drivers, Campfire Audio tuned each of the Ara’s seven balanced armatures to cover specific areas of the frequency spectrum. Four well-controlled bass drivers pack a powerful punch, while giving space for the remaining mid- and high-frequency drivers to shine. Resonating through a solid-body internal chamber, the resulting audio is densely detailed and impressively lifelike—great for recreational or reference listening. Completing the Ara is a striking shell machined from titanium.
Attention to detail: it’s a quality that defines most audiophile listeners. At Campfire Audio, it defines the audiophile builders, too. Founded by Ken Ball—owner and founder of cable- and DAC-manufacturer Audio Line Out—Campfire Audio creates innovative earphones with patented technologies and world-class performance. Powered by a small team of highly skilled craftspeople, the brand continuously experiments with materials and techniques to push the boundaries of the listening experience. Based in Portland, Oregon, the Campfire Audio team designs and assembles everything by hand. Each earphone is the culmination of countless iterations, hours of listening, and rigorous performance testing. It’s an audiophile-approved standard of quality—with results that sound the part.
