Update: Works perfectly with USB 2.0 ports on Windows 10 (Intel X99 setup), but as soon as I connect it to ANY USB 3.0 port, it freezes any video playback and makes all playback stutter and crash. Hopefully it's fixed within a week or so, because I really want to be able to upgrade my laptop to Windows 10... (it only has 3.0 ports obviously) Anyone with a Surface Book? Please share your experience.

Henri108Have you updated to the latest firmware? Also, this thing doesnt have bass boost. What headphones are you using with it? Could be that you are hearing your headphones driven properly to their full potential for the first time, the extra current output aiding full driver excursion in the low frequencies where the range of movement is greatest. Works perfectly from USB 3.0 ports for me, but im running windows 7.

Henri108Check page 52 I posted a little work around for Windows 10 while we all wait for the driver to be released, they are working on one currently that should fix people's freezing/lock up issues.

whatup693.0 ports work for me in Win 8.1, but not in Win10. I have the latest firmware yes. I'll gry M4rkbrown's solution. I do hear bass boost compared to 2 other DAC's. (Dragonfly and ODac) But the mid-range sounds better on the Centrance. I used my ATH M50X and Bose Quietcomfort 15. Also tried the AKG 702 for a minute and it also got a bump in the bass frequencies. It's not very significant, but it's there.

Henri108Waiting for the current drop to use and hear this thing. In the mean time: manufacturer gives analog frequency response as "20Hz...40kHz +/-0.2dB". I have no reason to expect any bass boost. If there is, they would have to be lying about this spec.

motogrossofeioIt's not a question of lying. Some headphones may produce boosted bass, but not because the DAC/amp boosts it. Specifications are based on constant impedance of the test rig. Actual headphone impedance varies with frequency, and frequency response varies with impedance, so real world performance is complex.

EarsI'll have to try again with some really high-end headphones. Maybe I was biased on the K702 test after hearing bass boost on my Bose Quietcomforts.
