I never thought I'd develop such a fondness for a ^*#^$ comb, but I have. I bought it with the leather case, and it cooperatively sits in my trouser pockets without a snag. It's seemingly devoid of static, and renders a much smoother combed head than plastic combs. And it looks as cool as hell, and is easy to use thanks to the ring. I'm now ashamed -- I just waxed enthusiastic about a freaking comb. . . .

MisterMuleboyI agree, I know it sounds silly but i can honestly say it changed my life. Not hugely of course, but being able to freshen up the hair on a bathroom break has greatly improved my late in the day grooming immensely.

I hate how much I love it
Now I'm not one to normally speak in a hyperbolic fashion while reviewing a product but this comb has freaking changed my god-dang life, pardon my french. The lack of static while combing my hair was a factor that I didn't even know was hindering my grooming routine. The ease with which any particulates combed out of your hair wash off the comb I thought was only written about in barbershop bibles. The perfectly blunted tines of the comb not scratching my head while still exfoliating my scalp sit in that perfect Goldilocks middle ground. I am officially a fangirl

Blunt but nice, some QA issues
-- Two problems with this one:
Parting line all around from the injection molding process You know when they tell you to avoid cheap plastic combs because small molding defects on them rip your beard apart? Well, this one is full of those. And @JL2015 has the nerve to say that they "shape the comb into a perfectly smooth, ergonomic design". Well, they don't. Look at the close-up photos and decide if you think this is acceptable. Dull teeth = doesn't comb The teeth have very little taper, ending in chunky rounded tips. Due to this, it doesn't feel like they're raking through your hairs, but instead it's like they're pushing the hairs down against your skin. More passes are required to achieve the same effect as with a comb with proper, pointy teeth. ++ Some pros:
Looks cool From a distance, anyway. There is some carbon in there Compared to your regular plastic comb, this one is much more rigid and has a more textured finish. You may like this or not. I've never had a problem with static or breakage so it's up to you how important you think the carbon is. ++ UPDATE: I've received the replacement comb @JL2015 promised in the below comments and it's indeed much smoother. Looks like it came from the factory with little flashing, and then had the remaining flashing removed manually, I assume for my benefit. I still think the blunt teeth aren't doing as good a job as they could, but overall I'm satisfied and I'll be using this daily.

Hi Adam, Thanks for your reply. We've written to you separately with a tracking number for the replacement, and trust it will work well for you. We look forward to your follow-up feedback. For the benefit of anyone else reading this, a few further points: 1. Minor flashing is an aesthetic issue relating to the appearance of the comb (if you examine it very closely); it has no bearing on the functionality of the comb and will most certainly not "rip your hair out." Flashing is usually a tiny delicate wisp of material; it's not hard or sharp at all. In this way, it's actually the opposite of your hair: we tend to think of hair as "delicate", but actually your hair is very tough -- it's almost entirely made of keratin, a very hard protein that your fingernails are also made of. Here's are some eye-opening facts about human hair from the UK's The Guardian newspaper: "Hair is strong. A single strand could hold 100g (3oz) in weight: the combined hair of a whole head could support 12 tonnes, or the weight of two elephants. Weight for weight, it is [strong]... like aluminum, or reinforced glass fibres or Kevlar, which is used to make bulletproof vests." 2. You can of course certainly damage your hair through excessive bleaching, coloring, heat, or sun exposure - i.e., things which affect the protein structure of the hair. Using a hair comb with a tiny bit of flashing? Sorry, no. There is really no evidence for it, and that becomes clear when you consider what "flashing" and "hair" actually are. 3. The hair industry is full of urban legends that are not based in science -- they are just silly marketing gimmicks by companies trying to sell you alternative products (like saw-cut combs). The claim that a small amount of rather pliable and delicate flashing will damage your hair is just one example. Our goal, of course, is to avoid flashing on our combs, and we work hard to achieve that, and that's primarily driven by aesthetic and product appearance considerations. But to the extent you observe any flashing when you examine the comb closely, hopefully this explanation assuages any concerns you may have. It really is nothing you need to be concerned about. Thanks again for your comments, and we look forward to your feedback after you receive the replacement.

I love this little comb. It's super EDC, great rigidity, and no snags or tugs when I pull it through my hair because the finish is smooth as silk. And I don't have to worry about it overloading my backpack, neither. ;)
no, seriously; I like it so much I am going to buy a couple or 3 more, my dog-pack even likes this comb. If you've ever tried to shed out a 4-dog pack in summer while they are blowing coats, you'll understand just how important a handy, snag-free comb really is. Tooth spacing, price point, and that thumb hole make this one a Real Deal, Camille. Buy 2! One for your home, one for that spare carabiner on your gear bag that you couldn't figure what to hang.

Hansinluckafter having this for a couple weeks I can say I am enjoying it a lot. I have it affixed to a carabiner on my bag and use it daily. Also fits in the pocket perfectly.

This is a quality comb. I don't think the comb is 100% carbon fiber. It's more a carbon fiber composite with some kind of resin. Nonetheless it's a solid comb. It's short and packable in a dopp kit and looks very sleek inside the leather sheath.

Great for a head full of hair.
I’m not bald. If I were, I wouldn’t have bought these, would I? These are great for using on real, thick, human hair. Everyone should have this for hair like I definitely have. These stylish combs are also great for showing people you have plenty of hair. I’m not bald.

A nice, dependable comb.
Still looks and feels brand new after about a year of daily use in and out of the shower. Teeth are perfectly sized and spaced for clearing up knots while avoiding getting caught on them. Bought the leather case for travel, but definitely could get by without.

Nice comb.
Model NO.1 Carbon fiber Nice little comb, Zero static on dry hair, weighs next to nothing, tines are at the perfect distance to hold water via surface tension to "wet" the comb if you so desire. I like the hole, helps to grip it. Also great for taming my beard and mustache. A little snaggy in the beard, but everything is. My only criticism is that it's just a bit too long. If it was just about 1 cm shorter it'd be perfect. It just so happens it was the exact width of the back pockets of most of my pants. It would wedge itself tightly in there on occasion and got stuck several times. I ended up modifying it by trimming off about 1/2" from the end. It's almost perfect now. This is the first comb I ever carried on my person, it's really nice tool to freshen up midday. I highly recommend keeping a comb with you, it sounds silly but it made a big difference. I've misplaced it and I really notice a difference in my grooming later in the day without it. Specifically I recommend this brand and model, shorten it if you need to it's still great.

It is indeed a comb, and a damn fine one at that! Not a sharp edge in sight, the finish and feel of the carbon is smooth with a satin-y finish. Not sure if it's actually "carbon fiber", more of a carbon composite, but that's just a minor nitpick at this point.
